Wyatt's POV

I rushed out the room and down the stairs, I mean I was going so fast that I'm sure I pushed some people out the way and almost made a few fall. When I got to the doors that led me into the department, I realized that I didn't have my badge and kicked the door out of frustration.

"What the fuck man?!!?" I shouted.

Everyone that was walking by was looking at me, but I didn't care. I needed to get into there.

I started knocking and banging on the door in hopes that one of the nurses or even the doctors would hear and have some sympathy on me. And just my luck someone did hear, it was one of the scrub nurses who I only knew by herscrub cap, I don't think I ever got her name, but we always talked in passing when we saw each other.

She came over and opened the doors with her badge.

"Thanks you so much, I can't find my badge." I said grabbing her shoulders and pulling her in for a hug.

"It's no problem Dr. B. Is everything ok?" she asked.

"Yeah I just need to get to my fiance."

That was the first time I actually said that to someone else, outside of the family I mean, and it felt real good to say it. I had a fiance.

"I'll catch up with you later I said as I ran to OR. When I got there, I didn't ever scrub, I looked through the door and saw Percy laying on the table intubated and being worked on. As I was stepping into the OR, I had eyes on me the second they heard the door open.

"What's going on, how is he?"

The ortho surgeon stopped working on the arm and looked up at me. "Hey Wyatt, I called you in here because we have a bit of a problem."

That statement made my heart rate go up, I was already frantic as it was. "Okay, whats's wrong?"

He was about to wave for me to come over and then stopped. "Have you scrubbed?"

Felling stupid I said no and immediately turned around to scrub, he wanted to show me something but I couldn't come into the sterile field unless I was sterile myself. Somehow scrubbing this time seemed to have been the longest two minutes of my life. I was scrubbing and watching, scrubbing and watching, and scrubbing and watching. Once I was done, I ran back into the OR and went over to stand next to the doctor.

Hey pointed at the the strands of nerves in Percy's arm. "Okay you see this here?"

I had to maneuver my eyes to see what he was talking about but then I saw it. "Yeah, that's a nerve. He won't have function in his arm will he?

"Im going to be honest, there is a possibly that he won't. You have two options, I could try and take a nerve cell form his other arm, leaving him with full function but there is a possibility that It won't work 100%. We're hoping that is will in fact functional, but with the trauma he's endured, i can't say whether or not it's a good nerve until I have it out and placed in this arm. Or I could do nothing and he'd be about 35% function in this arm, it's your call.

"You do whatever you have to do. Take the never ending from the other side, just keep him alive."

He shook his head to let me know he'd heard me loud and clear. I left the OR and went to update the family, they needed to see me or hear some type of good news. When I walked into the room all eyes were focused on me, and Dr. Bennett was there with the family along with two other people who looked like detectives.

"Hey everyone, so far he's doing good. The ortho surgeon is still working on his arm, but for now, he's okay."

Mom stood up and hugged dad. "Oh that is amazing. That is just wonderful."

"And Tiffany, how is she?" Jordan asked.

I looked at her, my face showing no emotion and simply said. "She's ok."

She looked at me sideways. She knew something was up. The whole family started to gather together and give some love to each, Jordan however, made her way over to me.

"What was that about?"

I pulled her aside so that no one could hear me. "Keep this to yourself."

"I won't say anything, you have my word."

"I went to see Tiffany, to basically ask her what happened, but the story she told me was an absolute lie."

"What do you mean, how do you know?"

There were so many holes in her story, and the shit just doesn't make sense. She said that Percy was probably a little drunk, then she said that he tried to brake fast to avoid hitting something and pulled the parking brake, and  that she also didn't see what it was that he was avoiding."

Jordan was a thinker, she didn't respond right away but just stood there and thought for a moment. "That doesn't sound like Percy, but if he was slightly drunk, sadly there might be some truth to what she's saying. What makes you think she's lying?"

"Quite a few things. One, Percy would never have gotten behind the wheel if he didn't feel 100%, hell the boy wont even drive with a low grade fever, let alone under the influence, he's too damn scared to kill someone."

Jordan was looking at me, piecing together every detail.

"Two, she said that he was trying to avoid something. Percy drives just like me, defensive and always having an escape, if there was a possible accident about to happen, he would have saw it a mile away. Three, the parking brake."

"Parking brake?" she said suspiciously.

"She says that he pulled the parking brake, and I knew then the whole thing was a lie."

I got close to her and stared her dead in her eyes. "That man would NEVER PULL THAT PARKING BRAKE...NEVER. He forgets to use it whenever we park on a hill, so why in the hell would he think you use it in the heat of a moment? And on the freeway? The bitch is lying."

Jordan had a look in her eyes, I didn't know if she was angry or excited. She just had a glimmer, and it was kinda scary.

Dr. Bennett walked over to me and whispered.  "Can you step outside with me for a moment son? These detectives need to speak with you for a moment."
