Wyatt's POV
For the record, let me state, that under no circumstance did I want to be here right now. Percy must have sensed my hesitation because I was driving, and not saying anything, but I could see him watching me from the corner of his eye.
"So... is it the fact that your dad is along for the ride or the fact that we're out here about to act like Power Rangers?" He asked.
I had to laugh, he was dead on about both things, but one more than the other. "Definitely door number two. I can't believe all of y'all thought this was a good plan." I snarled.
He sucked his teeth. "Ahh, don't even act like you didn't bring up the idea!" He said, giving me all types of side eye.
"I brought it up as a joke, and you clowns just took it and ran! And then... EVEN when I tried to talk y'all out of it, YOU basically pushed me out the way!"
He just sat there laughing, his familiar voice ringing in my ear, his presence giving me everything I've been missing since the car crash. God this man is my heartbeat.
We pulled to a stoplight and I looked in the rear view mirror to see Terrance and Charles in the truck behind us. "I won't lie, I am a bit scared."
He grabbed my right hand. "Hey, we got this. I know it's wild as fuck, but it's 4 of us and..."
I cut him off in the middle of that bullshit. "No, we got 3, and they've got 4. You are still staying in the truck buddy. I need you to let us know if or when Reggie and his clowns pull up."
I knew Percy wasn't too happy about missing all the action, but the last thing my nerves needed was to watch him being re-admitted to the hospital.
"I got you, I will stay in the car." He said as he pouted like a bad-ass child.
All I did was look at him and smile. We pulled up to Reggie's building and found a place to park on the street around the corner. Charles and Terrance pulled up in the jeep behind us and hopped out, we followed suit and did the same.
Terrance walked up with what could be described as mischievous-joy. He eyed both Percy and I before asking "Are we really about to do this?".
Charles started chuckling. "Oh what, you scared butterfly?" he asked slyly.
"Hell nah, I just wanna make sure we're all on the same page pops..." Terrance replied.
I nudged Percy, hinting for him to step in and take lead, and he did just that.
"We're on the same page.", he said answering Terrance. "Wyatt will call Reggie, arranging them to meet at the hospital. I'll call the operator and have them page Wyatt to an operating room."
"I've already called Allen and he's on the look out... So he'll let me know when he spots Reggie at the hospital." I added.
Terrance chimed in. "And then, when we know the coast is clear and Reggie is for sure at the hospital..."
"You, Wyatt and I will go up an get Tiffany, while Percy keeps an eye out down here. We got it. " Charles said. My dad was seemingly calm, just as I remembered. He had his game face present and was ready for action. "What about Lilian? We haven't discussed what we're going to do with her." He added.
I looked around at them all. "Honestly, I haven't come up with anything yet. I'm still playing that one by ear; hell, we don't even know if she's here. Let's just keep everyone alive and do what we came here for. Cool?" I asked.
Everyone shook their heads in agreement and I took out my phone and called Reggie. The phone rang for a short while and then he finally answered.
No proper greetings, just a simple "You got what I asked for?" He asked.
