"Girl I'm so serious dude was ugly as fuck then gone have the nerve to say 'wassup witchu?' Not a damn thing!." my friend Kim said as we were walking towards my house in Memphis.

"Kim you a damn lie you know that boy was not talking to you he was talking to that damn tranny behind us." We was cracking the fuck up. We were on our way home from the gym. We're only 16 and going into the 11th grade when school started back Monday morning.

We continued our conversations all the way to my house where I could see my mom packing our things in the car so that we can get to the airport. After my grandma died she was talking about wanting a fresh start and she felt like New Orleans could do that for us. She had let us spend all of our summer saying goodbye to our soon-to-be old lives.

We stopped walking once we finally made it to my house and both of our eyes filled with tears not wanting this to be the very moment that we had been dreading all month... Me leaving. We hugged like we like it was my last day on earth.

"Promise me you'll call me everyday Mari.", Kim said through her tears.

"I promise." I said nodding, "Ima miss you so much!."

Little did I know that was gonna be the last time I talked to her in years.
