Sometime in 2000?

Prince out of the blue gets an unexpected call from the Minneapolis police with a story he'd never believe...at least without evidence. 

Apparently back when Amiir was born, something happened that no one would ever suspect.  As it turns the child he & Mayte buried & mourned for, wasn't theirs. 

They've just now found the mistake, with another woman having raised their son on her own for last four years....

**Author's Note:  With the departure of @ShortyRaRa from WP, this story is again up for grabs.  I'd really love to see it told if anyone is feeling inspired.  Would write it myself, but have too much on the go as it is.  #lol #puppydogeyes **
