『May 2nd』
Half a day! Celebrate!
I'm just hilarious.
Rio Ueda is gonna confess to Kakeru today. He accepts and dates her. He asked Naho if she'd be okay with it but if you've been nice enough he might ask you. Let's be real for a second, are you into him?
Let me tell you more about my timeline.
As you previously know I live in the timeline where they saved Kakeru. (The second timeline) so instead Suwa died.
At Suwa's funeral, Kakeru was the one to comfort me. He didn't know me all that well, none of them did but they knew I had no one else left. He couldn't even remember my name which made me realize how small my existence was to Suwa's friends. But Kakeru had a made the pain minimal, and sooner or later I left my house for the first time after the incident. When he left, I missed him and.. I had developed feelings over that time. Funny, the first one I'm telling is past myself.
In my world, I thought I'd never stop crying.
"Where should we go for spring break?"
All of us were by Naho's desk in the back, Azusa answered the question with a shrug. "Somewhere Kakeru hasn't been before."
We talked a bit about where to go for spring break, I had suggested going bowling downtown.
We all said to meet back in class after sports, I went to the locker room to go change into our shorts and t-shirts.
Maria got the balls for everyone and we practice for about an hour before people started to leave.
On half days, people like to linger around school even when we have half days. Which to me is funny because who wants to stay in school longer than they have to?
"[Name]!"
I turned slightly seeing Kakeru running up to me. I adjusted the basket of volleyballs as he walked with me.
"You want some help?"
"No it's light, trust me they're not that heavy."
It's annoying how the storage room it a separate building from the school. Kakeru has taken the basket from me anyway, walking with me to the storage room.
"So.." He started, me licking my lips.
"So.."
"Are you into anyone?"
My heart slightly jumped, it was an unexpected question. I couldn't say I wasn't, but I didn't quite know my feelings.
"Maybe, how about you?"
"Don't know."
After two minutes of an awkward silence words came tumbling from my mouth. "What about Ueda?" I mentally facepalmed from the stupidity.
The boy hummed, a small smirk on his face. Is he assuming I'm jealous? "She is pretty.."
Shaking my head I bumped his arm. "Whatever Kakeru."
"And Kakeru loses!" Suwa yelled, boasting in his victory as the rest of us laughed.
We had played Rock Paper Scissors to determine who would get drinks from the vending machine outside. The loser sighed in defeat and pulled out a sheet of paper to write our order.
"I'll take a Cola!"
"Green tea!"
"Milk!"
"[Favorite Drink] please."
He wrote down our orders and looked to Naho. "Naho? Anything you want?"
With some pestering from Kakeru, Naho ended up asking for orange juice before the boy went off to fetch the drinks.
We all walked to the window where we saw Kakeru purchase and hold the drinks in his arms. We caught his attention before Azusa made a comment making us laugh. Kakeru blanked out, Azusa being the first to pick up on it.
"Hey! You okay? You need some help?"
His trance snapped, he smiled awkwardly. "Nah I'm good!"
Just then Ueda walked over and pulled the boy behind a tree. Azusa, Takako and Hagita questioned what was going on down there but that was all the talk left between us.
Kakeru soon came back and Azusa ran up to him. "Did you just get asked out?" She asked, her hands on her hips and slightly leaning forward.
Kakeru shrugged, an awkward laugh tumbling from his lips. He took a glance at everyone before answering. "Basically, I said I'd have her an answer before we leave."
Naho ran out and Suwa followed her, genuinely worried about her well being. Since he had it taken care of the topic nobody spoke of it. We all had a bit more fun and Suwa returned before we noticed the sun was going down soon. We would be kicked off school property pretty soon.
We all went towards the exit together before going our separate ways, me waving goodbye to Kakeru before he called me.
"Go ahead Suwa, I'll catch up."
The brunette nodded and walked off leaving a flushed Kakeru in front of me. "What's up?"
The boy stuttered, he held the back of his neck and looked anywhere but me. I raised an eyebrow before he cleared his throat. "W-what do you think if I go out with Ueda?"
Stunned by his question I looked down myself. I hadn't realized he would actually ask me. He was my friend but I hadn't thought much of our relationship or how he might feel about me. Although the note had warned me I was less concerned than I should've been.
"I.."
Kakeru helped my future self, as well as the current and past me. He was such a nice person as over the months he's been here, I do feel as if we got close.
"Um.."
I looked up at Kakeru who looked away from me quickly. I thought of running, I don't know what to think.
"I-If she makes you happy Kakeru.. As long as you're happy I'm happy.." I didn't look at him, after saying that I took off in the direction of my house.
I.. Don't think I want you to go out with her...
Can you tell I didn't edit this
