My surprise visit

I woke up feeling sick to my stomache. Those noodles were nasty last night, tasted funny, different than usual. I yelled for my mom to come and help me, but she was already at work, so my dad came in.

"It's okay, they were almost a year old anyways. Probably shouldn't have eaten them." He tells me, holding my hair back. I walk over to my sink and get washed up as he heads back down the stairs. They creak as he steps.

'Ding dong' goes the doorbell.

"Who is it?" I ask my dad, changed in new clothes, clean clothes. He shrugs and opens the door to the FBI.

"Abigail Fisher?" A tall, quiet looking man asked. I nodded my head and raised my hand. "What's this about?" I ask, when the principal emerges from behind the men.

I look shocked and stand stiller than ever before. Why is she here? "It has come to our notice that you helped solve that murder mystery at the college?" I agree.

They all walk in, looking around the place. The principal pats my shoulder and smiles, a real smile.

"So we want you to help us." I stop what I'm doing and turn towards him. My dad pushes me aside and confronts him first. "You realize what you're asking my daughter to do, right?" He says confidentially. They all say yes.

"Sir, we are the FBI. If we say that we want help from an eighteen year old girl, we check their background first. Seems to be this will be safe and okay for her to do. We need her help and you can't tell her what to say. So, Abigail, yes or no?" They ask me.

I stutter in my thoughts not knowing what to answer. But I know what I should say, not a reasonable one, nothing to back up why I want to.

"Yes, but what am I going to do first?" The men and principal smile. That's probably exactly what they all wanted to hear from me.

When my mom arrives home, they explain everything that just happened and why they want me: what I need to do.

"So Abigail will be doing a spy operation. Basically, she's going to pretend she's someone she's not to get closer to the suspect." He smiles, what an ugly guy. Thank god I didn't just say that out loud because I tend to do that a lot.

"She's going to pretend to be a homeless girl who's house just burned down, family died in it. Gets close to suspect, pretends to fall in love and boom! Finds out his true secret and we've got him. May even open up a spot in the job for you." A woman police officer says, she is a medium sized girl, skinny, and beautiful.

My parents nod and turn back to me. Smiling yet sobbing for some reason. "Sweetie, this could be terrible turn out, or a good one. Make it a good one." My mom says playing with my hair. I agree and hug them both.

"Okay, meet us at the county police station tomorrow at 8am. See you then and thanks for agreeing to the job, Abigail." They all walk out and get into the two cars driven here.

What a long day it will be tomorrow.
