After lunch I go to my locker to grab my things for history and spanish. When I get there I see Jason has beaten me to the locker area and is kneeling down to put his things in his arms. As I open my locker I notice him stealing glances at me and then looking away when I look back at him. Sienna and I call it the look away game, and sometimes it can be really annoying or really cute, depending on the person and the situation. In this case it is definitely cute. I grab my things and head toward history, wondering what Mr. Williams has in store for us today.
I sit in history class thinking about Jason pretty much the whole time and not paying attention to Mr. Williams' lecture on WW 2. I think about his messy but perfect hair, his dazzling smile, and his gorgeous cloudy blue eyes. I wonder why he hasn't said anything to me? The suspense is killing me! Does he like me or not? I mean, it can't be that hard to say that at least. Or can it? I honestly don't know. After history I go to spanish, and finally I have study hall, where I'm free to catch up on homework. Sometimes I go down to the kitchen to help the teacher with her lesson, but I mostly read. Right now I'm reading the Clique series. I wish I was as boy-confident as Massie, or as smart as Kristen, or as stylish as Alicia. They all have pretty perfect lives and I'm just, well, me. A deaf nerd who can cook, and who hardly has any sense of fashion, in which her closet is filled with t shirts with quotes on them and colored jeans, with a few skirts and one dress that I only wear to weddings or whatever event I absolutely have to dress up for.
After school I go to my locker to get my bag when I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around to see Jason standing in front of me with his dazzling smile, although it looks like it's more of a shy (dare I say embarrassed?) one. He looks at me for a few seconds, then lifts his hands up for me to see.
"Hi, I'm Jason", he signs. I look at him in shock. So that's why he's been avoiding me! He had been trying to learn how to sign so that he could talk to me! Okay that is just adorable.
"Um you know I can talk right?", I say to him. Now it's his turn to be shocked.
"Umm no I didn't know", he says blushing. He is so cute when he blushes. His cheeks burn bright pink as he looks at me. "I'm sorry, I've just never seen you actually talk, and I didn't know if you could read lips either, so I took a few ASL classes to learn how to talk to you and..." he trails off. I smile at him.
"That is the nicest thing any one has done for me, I can't believe you took classes just to learn how to talk to me!", I say as his blush becomes a deeper red.
"Well I mean I like you so I thought, how can I talk to a girl that I like but is deaf? And then I saw a sign that read "free ASL classes" and I thought that would be perfect, so I'm really sorry if it looked like I was avoiding you because I wasn't, I just didn't know how to talk to you, I mean like have a real conversation with you", he finishes, his cheeks a deep scarlet now.
"Thanks Jason, that was really sweet", I say, beaming up at him.
"So...do you wanna talk on Monday?" he asked.
"Yeah, that would be great. See you on Monday!" As he's about to turn and walk away, I blurt "Oh and for the record, I already knew your name". He beams and blushes, then walks away. I practically jump 3 feet in the air when he's out of sight. He likes me! He really likes me!! I hurry to grab my bag, and head over to Sienna's locker to tell her my great news. This day just got 100 times better.
A/N: hey guys! so sorry for the late update. but I hope you enjoy this chapter! bye lovelies! <3
