I WOKE UP to the sound of pans being clattered together. The piercing sound echoed throughout the empty house, my head was buzzing. Whoever was in the kitchen kept throwing the pans together, almost like it was on purpose.

The clanking continued, leaving me no choice but to investigate. I shuffled out of my messy bed, putting on whatever shirt and pants laid on the floor. I disconnected his phone from my charger and stumbled downstairs, wanting nothing more than to know the perp.

I turned into the kitchen and was faced with the bare back of Grayson's. Immediately, my smile dropped and so did my whole mindset for the day. I was secretly hoping it was my beloved mother, so you can imagine how off guard I was caught.

I made sure my presence was known. As I opened the refrigerator, I made sure to slam it back to its place. I saw from the corner of my eye as Grayson flinched, glancing at me scarily. I quietly chuckled to himself as I grabbed a bowl and a box of Fruit Loops.

"I can make you a pancake if you want one?" Grayson requested. He smiled as if he thought offering pancake was going to make up for the thing he had done.

"I rather eat a salamander than eat the trash you call food." I coldly stated. I poured cereal into the bowl and then poured milk into it.

I heard Grayson scoffed behind me before taking his plate of pancakes upstairs. Grayson's footsteps dispersed as he got closer before all you could hear was the sound of the door being slammed.

The house rumbled under the sound before settling. I  sat on one of the kitchen's stool, bringing my phone and bowl in front of me. I unlocked my phone and went into Twitter, hoping I would have some sort of notification.

At the moment of me opening Twitter, a message from May came through. A smile spread onto my face, whenever May would text me. It was like a lightbulb being turned on in a dark room, she was the light of my permanently dark life.

I finished the last bits of my cereal before placing the bowl in the sink

I finished the last bits of my cereal before placing the bowl in the sink. I took the time to wash them, knowing my mom would scowl me for not taking the time to do so. Once done, I placed the bowl into the drying rack before walking into my room.

I removed the shirt and shorts I had randomly put on this morning. I slid on some black joggers and a white Calvin Klein hoodie. I grabbed my keys from my night stand and jogged downstairs barefooted. Next to the door was my new pair of checkered slip-on Vans, where I slid them on.

"Where are you going?" sounded Grayson's voice behind him. I turned, narrowing my eyes on his figure before rolling my eyes.

"I'm just going to mind-your-business town." I remarked.

"When are you going to stop being pissed at me? I apologized." Grayson whined. He walked downstairs, inching closer to me. His eyes were clouded with pure distraught and sadness, almost convincing me to accept the apology. Key word: almost.

I couldn't find the heart to forgive my brother, he had gone too far. Grayson more than understand how hard it is for me to be confident with myself. So him attacking my insecurities, was a step TOO far.

"When you grow up and realize what you did was wrong." I fumed. I walked out of the house, not wanting to hear Grayson's response.

In a matter of ten minutes, I had finally arrived at The Hub. I already understood that once May had laid her eyes on me, I was going to get it. I promised five minutes and arrived almost ten minutes later.

I strolled in and slid in the booth where May was facing towards the entrance. I dropped my phone on the table before realizing there was a plate with pancakes covered in strawberries and syrup.

"I ordered you pancakes since I know you'd never pass up on them." She smirked. She took a sip of her coffee, as she placed the cup down her mouth spread into a wide grin.

"Wow, thank you." I beamed. I couldn't believe how closely May had been listening to me. "How'd you know?"

"I checked your Instagram and Snapchat." May confessed. I laughed, not remembering how I would constantly post about pancakes and Acai bowls. Nonetheless, I was happy May was paying any sort of attention.

"And here I wa—" I stopped dead in my tracks when I felt someone slid next to me.

"Sorry, hope I'm not too late." Ava smiled as she slid in. She placed her plush pink purse on the table and out of it, she took a Starbucks cup.

"Wh—!" I began to exclaimed. I was in pure shock, I would've never thought Ava was invited to tag along with us. Or that I had to face her somewhere other than school.

"Nope, you're just on time." May interrupted.

I had spent the rest of the of the day thinking about how bad and pathetic my own brother was acting. Knowing that he was the reason why school had become a living hell, I wanted nothing but to get payback.

I knew that me myself, wasn't going to do any damage but when under nerve's control — I'd do the worst to Grayson. My own thoughts consisted of me entering back, nerve never specified about not being able to come back.

I opened up the nerve app on my phone and started typing. I had no idea how exactly to get back in the game. There wasn't a button that would appear on my screen asking "Would you like to join back?". It was something I had to do manually.
