There was nothing I hated more than public speaking. Public speaking was always something that gave me the worst anxiety. I would usually keep my head low and hope that no one would rat me out for not presenting. However, today I wasn't really that lucky.
I had spent the last few minutes covering my head or acting like I was busy with something else. I was in the middle of doodling into my light blue notebook when my teacher called on me. There was not an occasion where I had felt my heart drop harder than it did today.
I made eye contact with the teacher, pleading with my eyes but the teacher wasn't having any. My hands were trembling as I tried to grab my papers without rustling them too hard. I felt a tap on my right shoulder and turned around, only to be faced with my brother.
"We can switch places." He whispered. "I know we're not on good terms but let me do this. Please!"
"Fine!" I agreed. I didn't exactly had much choice, it was either embarrassing myself in front of my class or letting my brother take over.
"Say you need to step out for a moment and I'll be there in a minute." He commanded. "We'll switch shirts."
I nodded and walked about to the desk where Mrs. Santos shoved her glasses up. I silently prepared myself to say three words even though it was something easy to say, he could still trip up.
"May I please step out for a second?" I politely asked.
"Be back in two minutes!" Santos insisted. She went back to shuffling her papers in order. I pushed myself out the door and stood next to the door. I waited for a while for Grayson until he, too, busted out through the doors.
As soon as they made eye contact, the two brother started tearing off their shirts. Ethan had decided this day to wear one article of clothing while Grayson decided to two.
While Grayson struggled with his second piece, Ethan had to nervously wait for him. As each second ticked by, he got more nervous and nervous. He was scared their teacher would peer outside and catch them in the act.
"Why did you decide to wear two different tops?" Ethan asked.
"Because it's a fit, I look good." He responded.
"So, that mean I'll look good too?" Ethan inquired.
"No." said Grayson as he passed me both his clothes and I, mines.
"But we're the same person!" I exclaimed.
"So, how you put into thought about my apology?" asked Grayson after a few moments of them being completely silent.
"I will accept if you can pass as me." I stated.
"Thank you!" beamed Grayson. He threw over my hoodie and hugged me tightly. He giggled as he pecked my check multiple times. It was noticeable how much it was killing him about me not accepting the apology. "Wish me luck"
"Luck!" I smirked. He walked back into the classroom while I stayed back, putting on the blue button up.
"Hey Grayson!" Dylan greeted as he passed by.
