*the pic is of Leigh-Ann*

I look up at my mom and dad, I was scared. I don't know why these cyborgs are burning everything.

Hugging my mom's leg, I cry, "mommy, daddy, I'm scared, please don't leave me."

Mom knelt down in front of me, "sweetheart, I love you. Remember that, but right now I have to protect our home. Your dad and I have to go now. Danny, take your sister to the cellar, and don't come out until we come and get you."

We nod. I know the procedure, someone will come get me when the cyborgs are gone.

We retreat to the cellar. The last time I saw my mom and dad, my mom was putting on her armor and enchanting her bow and arrows. Dad talking mom through a battle strategy, and I knew once they decided on something, dad would turn into a big black wolf.

I close the door of the cellar, and hug my older brother Danny. He comforts me, and after a little while we fall asleep on the little bed mom put in there for occasions just like this.

A hand waving in front of my face got my attention. I blink and look up at Winter. Her platinum blonde hair was straight and shoulder-length, she was glaring at me with her light green eyes. Leigh-Ann was standing behind her, with her arms crossed.

Leigh-Ann shook her head, her long brown hair flying, "Faith, you've got to wire your brain to notice when the bell rings."

I grin and close my notebook, "sorry, I guess I was lost in thought."

Winter shook her head as I gathered my things and walked out with them. Somehow I always end up in the middle, which has always made me laugh. Winter is a few inches shorter than me, and Leigh-Ann is a few inches taller than me, so we're always arranged shortest to tallest, as well as youngest to oldest. Winter is older than me by a week, and Leigh-Ann is younger than me by two weeks. That said, we have the same zodiac, Libra.

I sling my arms around my girls, "so ladies, who are we gonna demolish in fighting class?"

Leigh-Ann thought, "how about that one group of guys who are all brawn, no brain. We could so teach them a lesson."

I nod, "sounds good. I don't think we've fought them yet. What do you think Winter?"

Winter grins, "they're hotties."

I make a disgusted face, "eh. I'd prefer a nerd. At least then I'd actually be able to have a conversation with them."

A smug voice behind us calls out, "girl you don't need a nerd to have a conversation. Not while I'm here anyway."

I roll my eyes and turn to look at Jared. Jared has been hitting on me since I started coming here. Mostly to brag that he was able to sleep with me. I'm not psychic, but I am really good at reading people. It's why I'm the best fighter.

I roll my eyes, "at least nerds have better pick-up lines."

Jared smiled, "I doubt it."

I smile looking into his blue eyes, thinking that if he had blonde hair he would be a stereotypical jock, but he had chocolate brown hair.

I take a step towards him, biting my lips and leaning forward so my low cut top showed a little more cleavage, "so, are you in the restricted section of the library?"

Jared smirked, "yeah baby. Wanna check out my restricted section?"

I frown, "you didn't let me finish."

Jared put his hands up in surrender, "yes. I am, why?"

I grin, "sweet, you're going burn with the rest of the porn loving idiots."

Leigh-Ann laughed while Winter shook her head and said, "we're going to be late."

I chide Winter, "sweetheart. We've been friends for four years. Have I ever made you late for class?"

Winter pulled Leigh-Ann and me down the hall towards the gym, "yes, before you mastered your teleportation."

I teleport us to the gym just before the bell rings, "see? On time."

The coach, who happened to be standing right beside us, said, "barely."

I smile at Coach Jones, "still technically on time, coach."

Coach Jones shook her head, "Mrs. Rose, one of these days you're going to be late. Teleportation or not."

Coach Jones then blew her whistle and everyone who was in the class gathered around. We were going to spar with our weapons today. I grin, because my weapon is the most badass one here. Well, my primary weapon is, my secondary weapon is the second badass one.

My primary weapon looks like a pair of chakram, but instead of holding them in my hands, they are attached to an arm brace that covers half my palm, which makes them harder to lose. The arm brace also hides a gun, but I only use paintball rounds in school. The blades also retract into the arm brace, so I don't accidentally cut myself or someone else. Being a witch really has its perks.

My secondary weapon is a black metal bow. It was my mom's; one of the few things to survive the fires set by the cyborgs. It's special perk is being able to shoot arrows fast enough to travel thousand of yards, it's basically a sniper bow.

Coach Jones sends us to the locker room to change and grab our weapons.

I change into a black one piece that covers me neck to toes, and my black combat boots. I've enchanted my combat clothes to be strong enough to stop a bullet. After slipping my armbands on, slinging my bow over my shoulder, and attaching my quiver to my leg, I walk out of the locker room. Leigh-Ann and Winter followed wearing similar outfits; Winter's was dark blue, and Leigh-Ann's was dark purple.

Oh, before I continue, I guess I should tell you one more thing about witches. Every witch has an animal attribute. A witch's animal attribute tends to run in the family.

For me, that would be wings. I'm not talking little dainty butterfly wings, but actual full size bird wings. Before the cyborgs destroyed my village, mom told me that the color of our wings told us a lot about our powers. She said since mine look black, blue, and purple in the right lighting, it means that I'll be extremely powerful. Mom had shiny black and blue wings, and she was a very powerful witch.

I have no doubts that I'll be just as powerful, if not more so. After all, mom was never wrong.
