*the pic is of Winter*
Coach Jones blew her whistle, "alright. Get in your groups."
In our first fighting class four years ago, we were told to find two other people we could get along with. Winter and Leigh-Ann automatically flocked to me. I have no idea why they did, but luckily we worked together well.
Back then, I was using more magic than fighting skills. To say the least, I sucked back then. Luckily, Leigh-Ann was in my group. She helped me improve my fighting, mainly because she put a magical block on me. A magical block is used to basically temporarily take away a person's magic. After she did that, I learned how to fight, and I fought well.
After a few years of fighting together, we move together as one. I even established a mind link between the three of us, so we can plan attacks and still have the essence of surprise.
We even have team names. Our team name is Harmony, because it describes us perfectly.
Coach Jones says, "first fight; team Harmony against team Jock."
My snort turns into full laughter when I saw Jared and two of his friends walk forward. His team was the one we were talking about on the way over here. The other guys on his team just happened to be twins, Jason and Josh. They are the stereotype of jocks. Blond hair, blue eyes, muscular build, and player ways. As funny as it is, they're faeries. They're good with weapon enhancements and healing.
Jared smirked, "what's so funny babe?"
I take a deep breath as I pull my hair into a ponytail, "your team name is so unoriginal."
I walk forward, followed by Winter and Leigh-Ann. Winter drew her beautiful katana which has a whip like cord attached to the hilt. Leigh-Ann pulled her metal bow staff that can separate into nun-chucks that have hidden blades off her back.
I load the paintball rounds into the bottom of my arm brace, as I smile at Jared. His team was wielding swords and knifes. This would be a fairly easy fight.
I mind-link the girls, how do you think we should take them down ladies?
I hear Leigh-Ann's calculating voice, how about hand-to-hand, then you distract them while we assume scale formation.
Winter giggles, I've always loved scale formation.
I smile, then that's the plan ladies.
I extend my chakram blades, and get ready to fly. The other team assumes similar positions, as I stretch my wings.
I mind-link the girls, I'll take Jared, Winter take Jason, Leigh-Ann, take Josh.
The girls nodded imperceptibly, and we waited for coach Jones to start the match.
After coach Jones blew her whistle, I tucked my wings against my back and charged at Jared. Winter charged Jason, and Leigh-Ann charged Josh.
Jared grinned and raised his sword and shield, I know from experience that he'll go for my wings. A few feet away from him, I aimed my gun, and pulled the trigger which was hidden on the part of the arm brace that covers my palm.
He laughed when it hit his shield, but that's where I was aiming to distract him. While he was distracted, I sideswiped his legs out from under him, and danced back a little.
I noticed that Leigh-Ann had her nun-chucks out, because Josh was fighting with some killer twin blades. I know from experience that her nun-chucks hurt like hell when they hit.
Jason is standing and attacking. A downward strike is quite dull, but very efficient and easy to block, if you catch it in time. I cross my arms, shift my left foot back a little and raise my arms up. The blades of my chakram and his sword clang loudly, causing me to bend my elbows slightly, and slide back a foot or so.
I straighten my arms while uncrossing them, causing Jason to lean back a little. Then I Spartan kick Jared in the stomach, knocking him off his feet.
While he's down, I see Winter fighting Jason. Jason was wielding a big sword, that can almost morph into a mini scythe. Currently Winter wasn't too keen on letting the poor guy stand, while standing a few feet from him.
Jared then rushed at me, his shield aiming for me. I sidestepped and shot a paintball at the back of each of his knees. He went down, and I mink-linked the girls it was time for scale formation.
I retracted my blades, and unslung my bow before flying up. I grab an arrow, and mutter a quick spell to basically make it a smoke grenade on impact. Winter and Leigh-Ann knock their opponents on their asses and move back a little. I shoot that arrow, followed by another smoke grenade arrow. While I shot the other arrow, Winter tossed Leigh-Ann one end of her cord.
I land between my teammates, sling my bow over my shoulder, and grab the middle of the cord. As I fly back up with Winter and Leigh-Ann holding their respective ends of the cord.
We call it the scale formation, because from the opponents' perspective, it looks like I'm an angel holding a scale of sorts.
When the smoke clears, the guys are standing up with the same facial expression. Their faces said, 'oh, shit.'
I move the side Leigh-Ann is on back then forth, launching her at the guy she was fighting. That was followed shortly by Winter.
Me, I simply flew straight for Jared. After knocking him on his ass, I kick his sword out of his grip, extend the blade on my right arm, kneel down and press the blade lightly against his neck.
I see that Winter and Leigh-Ann are in similar positions. I grin as coach Jones blows the whistle.
Chuckling I say, "better luck next time, Jared."
I stand up and walk off.
I hear his footsteps coming after me. Just before he reached me, I dropped to the ground. He flipped over me, and I shot a paintball round in his face. He was out cold before he touched the ground.
I stood up and walked over to the bleachers, calmly sitting between Winter and Leigh-Ann while Jason and Josh tend to their teammate.
