Crispin POV
My foot hit Jeremy’s hip harshly three more times before I stopped. They were clapping behind me and I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was getting some kind of twisted enjoyment out of the sick everyday activities. They were better then being kept up in the guest room the whole time. I’d given up even trying to talk to Kalea let alone Jeremy. They wouldn’t talk to me anymore. They had no reason to really. They hated me and they were right to, I was evil. The woman crept up behind me and set her hand on my shoulder.
“You’re such a good boy,” she murmured. I smiled pridefully and threw that smile around the room at Jeremy and Kalea. If they didn’t need me then I didn’t need them. Jeremy turned his head from me but Kalea’s stare lingered until the man barked bitterly at her and she dropped it.
“You know, you’ve been here about a month. I think you should get a present, what do you think?” The woman asked a small lilt in her voice as she spoke affectionately in my ear.
“Whatever you want,” I whispered lowly. That’s what they wanted quiet respectfulness.
“This is so exciting. It will be here any minute,” She squealed. She pulled my arm urging me upstairs. I followed her reluctantly and threw myself on the couch once we were there.
“How are you feeling?” The man asked he turned on the t.v. and lounged beside me.
“Fine,” I mumbled in response. He nodded. A man of few words but silence was more desirable. About three episodes of Law and Order must’ve gone by before I heard the sound of a car coming down the dirt drive we couldn’t leave.
“Finally. You’d think he’d have been able to get here sooner since the runt doesn’t put up much of a fight,” The man grumbled as he stood up and made his way to the front door. I shrugged him off but listened closely as the door swung on its hinges and the heavy sound of a dragging body resonated.
“ Was the task really so difficult that it took you a full month to complete it, or are you really just an idiot?” The woman snipped. I stood up curiously and approached the door that led to the hall way.
“No, he’s just hard to find alone. Parents would barely let him out of their sight and even then he was always around that crazy drama teacher,”
Jason. That was Jason. I recognized the voice. That probably meant...no...he couldn’t have. I pushed the door open hard enough so it swung and hit the wall.
“Crispin! You ruined the surprise!” The woman whined. I ignored her and I stared at Jason who glanced at me with a smirk and yanked Micah to his shaking legs.
“H-hand him over,” I stuttered. Jason’s face burst into a full smile,
“Gladly,” He threw Micah to the ground in front of my feet where he frantically looked up to find who he was at the mercy of. And he found me. And he knew, just by that one glance, that something about me was different. He dropped his head and looked at my shoes.
“Nice to see he didn’t lose his obedience, time outside can do that to a person,” The man muttered while walking up behind Micah and putting his foot on the back of his head and pushing down until Micah’s forehead rested on my sneakers.
“Yeah, he’s a great little mutt but I did what you asked now where’s my sister?” Jason snapped.
“You see, there lies the problem. She knows. You know. So that means no one is leaving,” The woman stated plainly.
“You fucking said if I brought him she could leave. I’m not fucking staying here and neither is she!” He yelled. “Now where the fuck is she!”
“What is it with young people and that language? You can use that when you’re older,” The woman sighed. I shifted my feet uncomfortably and Micah didn’t move.  The man stepped up to Jason and took a handful of his hair roughly in his fist. He pulled him into the living room while he protested and I heard the basement door open and close.
“Now that that’s over why don’t we begin business. Punishment is in order for him Crispin, do you know what he did?” The woman asked.
    “No,” I said.
“He ran away. He almost told people other than you what was happening and he’s a coward. He fled and let us take that little blond boy in his place,” She sneered. Micah whimpered but I didn’t look down.
“What should I do?” I whispered. She thought for a moment.
“Get him to his feet first. If he’s really a good boy he’ll listen,”
I looked down at him and grimaced. He did seem like a dog, was this okay to do?
“Stand up,” I barked. Micah’s body jolted but he pushed himself to his feet, still staring at the floor he stood in front of me.
    “Look up,”
He picked his head up and looked at me. I tried to push as much apology into my eyes as I could. I had to do whatever they said. I knew that. And so did he. He nodded his head subtly in response.
“Grab him and take him down to the basement,”
Micah’s eyes found mine wildly again and he shook his head vehemently begging silently. I glanced at the woman,
“He doesn’t want to. He’s scared.” I said lowly almost growling because there were very few reasons he would be scared of the basement and I knew them all.
“What he wants and doesn’t want doesn’t matter. Neither do his fears.” She said coldly. I sighed loudly.
    “Fine. Whatever.”
I grabbed Micah’s arm tightly ignoring his faint protests and pulled him through to the living room and then to the basement door which I promptly opened and pulled Micah down the stairs.
    “Stop please!” Kalea screamed.
Jason was on the floor covering his head as the man laid kick after kick on him.
“Seems like you’re in an all too familiar situation. I’d help but I’m just a disgusting faggot.” I sneered. I couldn’t help that one.  He looked up giving me a full view of his split lip.
“Aw and you’re bleeding how upsetting,” I seethed.
“You’ve fucking lost it,” He hissed. The man kicked him again,
“I’ve lost it? Can you really blame me? It’s not like I just lost it this month, oh no, I’ve been losing it for years and years but you wouldn’t know that since the most time you’ve spent on me was to humiliate me. You wouldn’t know,” I growled.
“Stop being self-centered. You think you’ve had it so bad but you haven’t thought of anyone else. Yes I fucked up your life. I admit it and I’ve never thought highly of you I admit that too. But there are people who have had it worse, like Cinder.”
The man picked him up by his collar and slammed him into the wall beside Jeremy and Kalea who sat huddled in the corner. I set my lips in a straight line and just watched until I heard the heels clicking down the steps.

Micah POV
Crispin’s grip on my arm was loosening although he didn’t know it. He was confused, I knew how it was to have an entire situation turned around on you. To have someone turn you into the bad guy. Crispin isn’t the bad guy, at least not yet. He was edging there though, these people must’ve been pushing lies into his head for the last month. Lies that he couldn’t pass up because it was so idealistic to believe them.
I tried to keep my eyes off Jeremy and Kalea. They had to’ve been in rough shape. My hair was sharply tugged making my head tilt backwards.
“What’s the commotion down here?” Her eyes were as cold as ever.
“Nothing,” Crispin deadpanned. She accepted it and released my hair. I inched my way closer to Crispin.
“Well, I’m sure you two missed each other. You were getting rather close at the point of separation. So go on with your romantic reunion,” She encouraged. I watched Jason slide down the wall next to Kalea and she rushed to him glaring momentarily at Crispin. He’d upset all his friends.
I felt Crispin’s arms wrap around me and I relaxed into them.
“That’s pathetic. Even I could do better,” The man growled from his post. I cowered into Crispin’s chest. I didn’t want him to let him try.
“You heard your father Crispin. Step it up or he’ll show you what to do,”
Crispin let his hand travel up to the back of my head and I felt him grimace before he pressed his lips forcefully against mine. He moved slow and I kept up with my eyes firmly shut. He knew I couldn’t go too far too fast and he was still being careful of that. He was still Crispin. But They weren’t satisfied with that.
I was yanked back by my shirt and fell against the mans chest. He grabbed my hair and pulled my head to the side to attack my neck with his lips. His other hand descended to grab my hip. Crispin stood, shocked into his position. The man released me and spun me to be backed against the wall where he shoved his lips into mine. My head was crushed against wall and tears were leaking out of my closed eyes as his fingers pinched around my body. I should’ve expected this would happen again. I should’ve never gotten my hopes up then maybe this wouldn’t be so hard.
He slid his tongue between my lips and it took everything in me not to bite him. When he pulled away I opened my eyes and searched out Crispin. He wasn’t there. He wasn’t able to handle it. And that’s okay.
I crawled over to the others, cautiously watching the man from the corner of my eye. He didn’t come any closer. I crawled up to Kalea; she grabbed my hand and puled me into a hug.
“I’m so sorry you have to be here too,” she cried.
    “I-it’s o-kay,” I whispered.
She let me go and let her eyes flicker to, who I supposed was Jeremy. My eyes lingered there as well.
“Crispin did that,” Kalea hissed. I looked back to her.
    “H-he doesn’t have a ch-ch-choice,” I stuttered.
The man had gone back upstairs obviously locking the door as he had.
    Kalea grimaced.
“But he does. He could just not do it. Not listen to them and not hurt Jeremy like this,” She argued.
“H-he doesn’t. Th-th-they make d-deals. They p-probably t-told him if he di-did no one would d-die,” I stuttered. Kalea’s eyes softened the tiniest bit before darkening again.
“Then why didn’t he save you?”
I turned to glance at Jason. Bruises were forming along his face and blood dribbled down his chin. I should be angry with him and what he said but I couldn’t be. He had no idea what he was getting into after all. He just needed to save his sister anyway he could.
“He cou-couldn’t handle it. Se-seeing that wh-wha-whatever he d-did wouldn’t help. He-he’s s-s-scared for you all. Even y-you Jason, although y-you only th-thi-think he’s a o-o-o-kay piece of ass,” I said. Jason blushed furiously as Kalea sent him a scornful look.

Crispin POV
They were going to make me do something bad. Something so scarring to him that he’d never be able to look at me again. I covered my head and tried to breath evenly. I couldn’t hurt him...he was already so messed up...and maybe I...I...loved him?
