"You did what?" Fred was now pacing around in his living room with all of our parents, minus mine.
"We had to make sure FP wasn't involved in Jason's murder." Archie protested against whatever his father was thinking.
"And now we know we know the truth. He was." Alice Cooper said as she sat on the blue sofa.
"What? Mom, no. We just told you." You could tell Betty was aggravated with both, her friends and Mother.
"The gun was planted." Archie said quickly after Betty. "By whoever killed Jason." Veronica added on.
"Couldn't you have just missed it?" Hermione said sending a stern look to her daughter.
"Yeah, excuse me if I trust the detection skills of an officer of the law over four amateur sleuths." Alice started waving her finger around.
"Mom, you're the one who asked Veronica to break in!"
"And Archie." I muttered leaning my head on Archie's shoulder. All the parents started questioning Alice with loud voices.
"Actually, I approached Mrs. Cooper. I had to know if FP was involved, and if he was connected to my Dad." Veronica stepped closer to her mother.
"A gun was found. FP is the killer. Case closed. We're leaving." Hermione started to walk to the door and pulling Veronica.
"There was no gun!" Archie said quickly.
"Son, this isn't petty theft or a bar fight we are talking about, Archie. This is murder." Fred had a distressed tone.
"Okay, fine. Then we'll go to the Sheriff without you."
"Archie, you entered FP's residence Illegally. So whatever you did or did not find there would be inadmissible in a court of law." Archie's mom spoke up.
"I don't care what happens to me." Archie sighed intertwining our hands as he squeezed mine knowing I didn't like all of this drama.
"I do care. FP may have ruined Jughead's life, I'm not going to let him ruin yours."
...
It was the morning after we told Jughead about how his father was being framed and FP admitted to murder, we were all sitting in the lunch room.
"The police report said FP worked alone." Betty sighed rolling her eyes.
"No mention of your dad, Ronnie. That's good news, right?" Archie asked eating his food.
"It isn't as good as Jughead's dad in jail for something he didn't do." I scoffed looking at my fingers.
"I can't stop thinking that, maybe my dad hired another serpent to plant that gun." Veronica whispered loud enough as she turned away from the quote unquote grieving Cheryl.
