Ian's P.O.V.
"Then come with me."
Anthony and I followed close behind until I realized this was stupid.
"What the hell are we doing? You do know that we are almost in the middle of no where and now we're gonna walk to wherever it is you're leading us?" I had stopped walking mid-sentence, and he had as well, turning to face me.
"Did you ever think that maybe I'm leading you to the middle of no where because that's where it is?"
The only response I had to that was an eye roll, "Just keep walking." I pushed past him, nudging his shoulder.
"I need to be in front of you. You don't know where you're going!"
What a smart ass. I really don't like this guy, but now I'll have to put up with his shit if I want Xhex back.
He strutted in front of me, being the douche he is, and I was quite reluctant to follow him until Anthony pushed me along again.
A sudden thought came to mind, "Hey were you the one who put that letter in my mailbox?"
"Yup." His answer was short and pungent. I wanted to sock him straight in the face. Give him a gnarly, flying serpent kick to the face. See how he likes that.
"Why? Did you just wanna fuck with us?"
"No, I was making you aware. It was almost like a warning that I was coming and of that crash you just had. You guys sure didn't take it too seriously, now did you?" he turned his head to show the little smirk on his face.
"You've got a lot of guts, standing in the middle of the road, not even flinching. You could've gotten hit." This time it was Anthony who spoke, only to question this guys intelligence. And maybe even sanity.
"I might be a little crazy but I'm not stupid, in fact I'm practically a genius. I knew I wasn't gonna get hit because I knew you guys were far enough by calculating your distance. I had to get you to stop, now didn't I? You were already close to your destination."
"Now I know for sure that you're a smart ass. In both ways." I started back in the conversation and Anthony backed out again.
"Haha I'll take that as a compliment."
"Well that's not how it was intended."
"So?" he was becoming annoying enough to make me want to shoot myself. How could Xhex put up with this?
"I wouldn't want to boost that enormous ego. You could even use a lot less."
"Oh now look who's become the douche?"
"I'd tell you to not be a fagot, but it seems that your cowboy boots say otherwise." I ended with a smile, which got his smirk to drop.
"Now that one just hurt."
"Sorry, not sorry." I shrugged and kept walking. He soon walked ahead of me, keeping his head low, and without saying another word. I finally got him to shut up.
Anthony came up next to me and started talking in a low voice, "That one was really mean, Ian."
"He's been a dick the whole time. It was my turn."
"Yeah, but did you have to be that harsh?" he turned away and walked a little farther ahead of me, as to end the conversation and avoid me. I guess I had been mean.
We had walked for about a half hour before Axyl stopped, "This is it."
"What am I supposed to see?" I asked after not seeing anything. There was literally no change in scenery than the last ten minutes.
