"You... want me... to come home with you?" I asked him, staring bewilderedly.
"Yes. I know that there isn't a place in the world for you to go, so I'm going to take you in. At least until things start going your way again."
"The thing is, I don't know if they ever will."
"Trust me. Things will get better, Xhex. It'll be alright, let's just go home now."
He took my hand and led me to his car, opening the passenger door. I slid in, buckled my seat belt, and he soon got in the drivers side, turning onto the road.
"What were you doing on the roof when you saved me?" I asked, breaking the silence.
"I saw you when I was walking down the street and ran through the building as quick as I could. I didn't intend to just watch like everyone else. Someone had to do something."
"Thank you, but I want to die. I don't have a purpose on Earth any longer."
Ian pulled the car to the side of the road, turning to me and staring into my eyes, "there's absolutely every reason to be here. You can't give up. Please stop thinking this way," he soon started to progress to a yell, "You're a very important person! You can't let a few bad things get in your way. You've got to try to fix it. " He ended his rant by turning away from me and pulling back onto the road.
I was in shock by this. It was quite strange and I didn't really like what he just did, but I just shut my mouth. We didn't speak for the rest of the way there, and even though it got awkward, I didn't dare say anything else.
It only took about twenty awkward silence filled minutes to reach his house, and when we parked in the drive way we sat in silence, looking ahead.
It took a few minutes before he finally spoke in a hush tone, turning to me he said, "I'm sorry for freaking out like that. I have anger issues but I really don't want you thinking like that. Anthony knows you're coming. I told him everything while you were getting checked on. Come inside."
Ian got out of the car and stood, waiting, while I got out and slowly approached him. He lead me to the house, opening the door to reveal Anthony standing in the living room.
We entered an Ian spoke first, "Anthony, this is Xhex, the girl I told you about."
Anthony walked up to me and looked me in the eyes.
"I'm glad you didn't do it, even though I don't know you." He stepped away, "I have some clothes that my sister left here and we have a spare room you can stay in."
"Thank you. I don't think I will be able to repay you guys, though."
"It's no problem. We're glad to help."
"Do you mind if I go shower real quick?" I asked in a hushed tone.
"No go on ahead. It's down the hall to the left. Towels should be in the cupboard and your room is on the right."
"Thanks." I said walking off. I went into the spare room and found the clothes. I took my shower quickly. Wow I forgot how good warm water feels. When I walked out of the bathroom I heard Ian and Anthony whispering to each other.
"We can't keep her here for long." Anthony said.
"Well deal with it, Anthony!"
Footsteps were coming down the hall so I went back into the bathroom and reopened the door, to look like I just got done, in time to find Ian in front of me.
"Have a nice shower?" He asked me with a grin in his face.
"Yes thank you."
"We have pizza out here if you're hungry."
"Yeah I'll be out in a sec." I smiled until he walked away, and went back into my room. Does Anthony really not want me here? I knew I wasn't going to fit in and that I shouldn't be here.
I walked into the living room to find Ian and Anthony eating pizza at the table that I've seen in some of their videos.
"Hey, Xhex. Come sit next to me." Ian said as soon as he saw me.
"I think she should sit by me." Anthony said with a smirk on his face.
"Shut up. Don't even think about it." Ian have him a glare and told me to sit down next to him.
I took a plate, putting pizza on it, and started to nibble at it. I would usually throw this stuff down my throat, but the intense atmosphere was making me sick.
"I think I'm gonna go to bed. Thank you for everything." I said as I hurriedly walked to my room. As soon as I got there I closed the door and sat on my bed. It was only a few minutes before I heard a soft rapping on the door.
I got up and opened it to find Anthony. Last person I expected. He must have noticed my reaction. "I know you heard some of Ian and I's conversation earlier."
"How would you know?"
"I could tell by the way you acted around me. I'm sorry. You got the wrong idea. My sister is coming to stay and we don't have room for four people. She's also kind of mean."
"It's fine. I'm a nuisance, I know."
"No you're not." he said shutting the door.
"I wish you could stay but we'll have to keep you out for awhile. My sister doesn't really like others. She gets jealous." He sat down next to me on the bed.
"Well thank you for even letting me be here."
"It's no problem."
"Are you sure there isn't anything I can do to repay you?"
"Well there's one thing. You could maybe warm up to Ian a bit. He just had a bad heartbreak and it's be nice to see him as his happy self again."
"Sure." I said with a smile.
"Goodnight, Xhex." he opened the door and walked out, but before he could close it Ian walked in.
"Did he do anything to you?"
"No..." I stammered.
"He was in here alone with you, so I just had to ask. He has a girlfriend, though so I don't think he'd do that," he sat next to me on bed.
"Thank you so much. For letting me stay awhile. I needed it" I said.
"Of course. I know it's hard."
I must have fallen asleep because I woke up in the dark, by myself. The clock said 3:30. There was a storm raging outside, lighting and thunder.
I noticed my throat was drying so I went to go get a glass of water. When I walked into the living room I noticed Ian standing by the window, looking at the storm.
"Oh my gosh. You scared me," Ian said once he saw me, "why are you up?"
"I came to get water but the bigger question is why are you up?"
"I couldn't sleep. I get like that sometimes, but it's not actually insomnia."
"I'm not really that tired so if you want I can stay up with you." I said getting a glass and filling it. I took a sip and walked over to Ian, who was still looking out the window.
"You should just try to go back to sleep."
Well so much for trying to help. I didn't say anything back, just walked to my room and went back to bed. I didn't sleep any longer, just thought about what I've been through today.
