The flashing of images didn't make any sense. I'm dreaming –that much I knew for sure. I lay on my side on the cold ground, a flash of something silver in my vision. There are many moments of darkness but the most uneasy thing to me is the night sky. Why am I outside?
My whole body felt numb to the point of tingling. I thought I was floating on water with the pooling of liquid around me. I stare above me. The night sky is undeniably beautiful, even if it is cold down here. The shimmering moon peers down on me, full and bright.
Nothing made sense. Why... can't... I... breath? I cough and choke. A metallic tasting liquid clogs my throat.
"Mason!" A distant voice echos. I try and pin point where it's coming from but it bounces off the walls around me.
"Mason!"
Arms grip me tight and I awake, startled. "What? What's going on?" I suck in a greedy breath of air.
"Fucking hell," A voice whispers breathlessly from beside me, "I thought you were fucking dying. It sounded like you were choking to death." Glowing eyes flash in the dark and I lean against his chest. His heart beats rapidly.
A knot twists in my chest. "No, no. I'm okay. I swear I'm fine." I say reasurringly.
I pause for a moment. At this point I didn't know if I'm only trying to convince myself or him. The glinting silver, the brightness of the moon, the pooling liquid, the biting cold. All of it flashes through my mind again and I tense. Alex tightens his arms around me in silent reassurance.
Evevntually after a while the relaxation returns and washes over me. I end up falling asleep with no more further nightmares plaguing my slumber.
