"Oh," I jump a little as I hear a voice come from the door. "Dinner's ready. Mom wants you down in two." Ethan says and backs away to proceed his continuous texting on his phone and blindly walks away with eyes glued to the screen.

I let out a light laugh and a tinge of blush spreads onto my cheeks.

"I'm the C.E.O of my own company." Alex smoothly answers another question from my interrogating mother for the fourth time. Although the questions clearly don't annoy Alex in any way, I myself am getting a little irritated.

"How old did you say you were again?" She narrows her eyebrows in suspicion but I can see the interest and curiosity beneath.

"Twenty-six and counting." He smiles politely. I didn't sense any hostility in it, just genuine kindness and I was really glad he didn't smite my family from the constant questions and the sarcastic jabs Andy gets in, to the cold silence Ethan gives off.

Alex cuts off another piece of turkey while I shove a forkful of mashed potatoes into my mouth, and stab at a boiled carrot. Great, now I was stress eating. "Mother," I interrupt before she can get another question in, "please slow down and enjoy the dinner. " I plead softly. She gives my a hard look and waves her fork around.

"Yeah, yeah." She caves and clears her throat, "Anyway, how did you guys meet?" She asks and I nearly choke. Shit. I can't just say I summoned the devil into my household and now we make out every once and a while. I take a sip of water to stall. bumping into each other a coffee place? No, I don't drink coffee. Bar? Maybe. I suppose that's believable.

"It's not much of story, but we actually met through at the floral store Mason works at. He was so shy." He says before I can say anything. Damn, that's a good one.

"Gag, let's move on to a different topic." Andy rolls his eyes.

"Shush," my mother scolds him. "That's so cute. As long as my son is happy then I won't have to castra-"

"Mom, no. Please stop talking." I rush. I almost heaved a sigh.
