A Thug In The Making

Tevin woke up in his two- bedroom, small apartment. He woke up to the smell of bacon and eggs being scrambled in the same pan. He knew it had to be his little sister' A'nia. He got out of his king sized bed as he rubbed his beard and then headed into the kitchen dressed in some grey sweat pants and white Nike socks. "Good morning." Said Tevin in a raspy voice.

"Hey Tev, look, I made breakfast." Said his 16 year old sister A'nia. "It smells good." Said Tevin as he leaned over and looked at the unseasoned eggs. "There was a knock at the door earlier, but i paid it no mind, they knocked like once and then left." Said A'nia as she scrapped the eggs and bacon on to a plate.

Bad ass kids were always nigga- knocking on somebody's door, so Tevin nor A'nia paid it no mind. "It's cool." Said Tev as he took a swig of the last sip of the orange juice. He then closed the refrigerator, "look I'm gonna head out today and find a job." Said Tev.

A'nia laughed. "You mean a 9 to 5?" Asked A'nia. "Yeah." Tevin chuckled. "Shit they built that new grocery store across the street, so that's cool." Said Tev. "I guess." Said A'nia as she ate her bacon and eggs. "Why you laughing?" Asked Tevin. "Because you cant even clean up right without me helping you." Said A'nia as she rolled her eyes. "Naw I just act like that so you can do the rest." Said Tevin as he chuckled causing A'nia to threw a piece of her bacon at him.

"Pick it up." Said Tevin as he laughed and headed into his bedroom to get dressed. A'nia finished her food and then grabbed her backpack. She was dressed in her dark blue and white school uniform and then opened the door to head out, but noticed an eviction notice on the front of their door. Her heart dropped.

Ever since their mom and pops passed away due to a tragic car accident, it has been a struggle for A'nia and her older brother. Tevin has always tried to live right, he'd work at the church, or fix people's cars just to get by. And A'nia would try to work, but Tevin refused. A'nia is a straight A student and he wanted her stuck on the books until she could go to college and get a career.

"Tevin!!" shouted A'nia as her eyes watered. "What?" He shouted back as he walked to the front door in some all dark blue jeans, with a white dress- shirt, and some all white nikes on. A'nia handed the paper to Tevin. "We're gonna be back on the street again huh?" A'nia asked sadly.

Tevin read the paper and he seen the big, red, eviction notice. He didn't want him and sister bouncing from home to home again, so he had to do something and he needed to do something immediately. "Naw Nia. I got this, go to school, alright, everything will be fine." Said Tevin as he crumbled up the notice.

After he watched his little sister disappear as she walked down the street to school. Tevin realized he wasn't going to be able to come up with $850 dollars for the rent within a week. And usually he'd be able to pay, but money hasn't been flowing lately. He still looked in his mattress and only counted $328. "Shit" he mumbled as he sat on the bed and rubbed his face as he then laid back on the bed, thinking about what to do next.

He picked up his blue iPhone 5c and had to make a call to his boy Mink. Mink worked for a cold ass nigga name Majestic, that people knew not to fuck with. And truth be told, Tevin didn't really want to get involved with none of they asses, but he needed some fast cash, so he dialed Minks number.

Mink was at his crib, smoking a fat ass blunt, with two other niggas in the living room playing 2k18. "Yeah?" Said Mink as he blew the smoke out of his mouth.

"Mink this Tev man, I need you to put me on real quick." Said Tevin as he was now in his bedroom walking back and forth. Mink chuckled, "nigga fuck is you talkin' about? You know yo' goody two shoe ass ain't with the shits." Said mink as he hit the blunt two more times.
