The intolerable beep noise of an beep alarm clock beep is too much for one human to deal with. I slam my hand down on the snooze button, groaning.
"Beatrice! Get up before we are late!" Caleb yells pulling my blanket off.
I shiver, curling into a ball to avoid the cold air blowing full force from the vent.
"BEATRICE!" He pulls my leg, resulting in me laying splayed across the floor.
"God damn it Caleb!" I yell, dragging my body up. My legs are still asleep, resulting in me almost tripping every step to my bathroom.
"Get out!" I shove him out of my room. When the door is locked, I wash off my face, having accidentally left my makeup from last night on.
I see a few pimples along my jawbone, and sigh. It's the first day at a new school, and it is not starting off well. I head downstairs, still in yoga pants and a tank top.
Caleb is enjoying a nice meal of eggs and toaster waffles, whereas I grab leftover pizza from the fridge.
"Beatrice that isn't enough to eat to sustain you all morning." He insists, shaking his head.
I roll my eyes,"Then this is."
I grab a mug and pour a cup of coffee, taking a huge gulp. "That coffee pot was for me!" He whines, crossing his arms.
"Sharing is caring!" I shout, going back upstairs.
I finish my coffee and pizza, and take a 5 minute shower, letting the water wake me up. I blow dry my hair, leaving the long locks slightly curly. I could never be bothered to braid it or put it in a bun.
I put on a little mascara, eyeliner, concealer, and a dull pink lip gloss.
"Hurry up! Only 10 minutes till the bus gets here!" Caleb screams through the door.
"That's plenty of time!" I yell back.
I have an outfit layed out, a black crop top, foe leather jacket, and white skinny jeans. I have combat boots that I use for practically everything, seeing as it was hard for my mom to buy them.
We have never had much extra money, but we get by on lots of hand-me-downs from cousins and friends.
I grab my phone, backpack and wallet and we rush to the bus stop, which is at the opposite end of our street.
"We almost missed the bus because of you!" Caleb hisses, pointing at the approaching school bus.
"Whatever. We made it anyways."
The bus screeches to a halt. I see two dark-skinned boys running out from their house as we step onto the bus.
"Pedrad's, late as always?" The bus driver laughs. I hear a few snickers from around us.
I sit near the middle, trying to stay unnoticable. The boys dart into the bus, plopping in the seat right next to me.
"Sorry Yolanda! Forgot to set an alarm!" One of them, the younger looking, yells.
"It's ok Uriah!"
Uriah? That's an interesting name.
"Hey Blondie! What's your name?" The other one asks.
I look at my hands,"Um...Be... Tris. Yeah my name is Tris."
New place. New name."You don't seem sure of that." The older one remarks.
I laugh quietly,"Yeah. My name is Tris. What's yours?"
"I'm Zeke, and squirt here is Uriah." He ruffles Uriah's hair.I smile,"Nice to meet you!"
