Bella doesn't remember how long they were on the road, but all she knew was that she hadn't slept a wink for a while and wasn't planning on taking a nap. Edmund and Alice sat at the front, trying to entertain her as they tried to include her in their conversations and tell stories of how each one of them met and how they were turned. If it weren't for them, Bella would have probably lost her mind with worry.

It was nearing the 23rd hour before Bella picked her phone up again. At this point, there were at least a hundred missed calls on her mother's phone. She would have called Gabby but with the tracker hot on her heels, it would only be soon before he realises there are two of them.

"Mom, it's me again. You must have let your phone die. Anyway, I'm not in Forks anymore, but I'm okay. I'll explain when you call. Also, can you tell Ella I miss her?"

Bella sighs as she hangs up, her eyes moving to look over the passing deserts.

"Don't worry too much, Bella. Everything will be alright," Edmund assures her, a small smile on his lips. Bella tries to reciprocate, but her smile wobbles and tears well up in her eyes.

"I can't help but feel worried. I have this bad feeling that something isn't going to go well."

"Well, get those thoughts out! I've been following the tracker's choices, and none have changed. He still thinks you're with Edward."

Bella nods and lets her head rest on the headrest, trying to ignore the gnawing feeling of doubt.

It was only after a couple more hours on the road did Bella found herself lying face-up on the hotel bed. Her eyes were wide open as she traced the pattern of the roof with her eyes. The blinds in the room were pulled to block out the sun, leaving Bella surrounded by dimness and the cold wind of the air conditioner. She turned her head to look over to Alice and Edmund, who sat comfortably in each other's arms as they watched the news on the TV; noticing the stare of the younger girl, Alice turned her head and smiled at Bella, offering her to eat.

"You should eat, we got this so you can get energy."

"I wish he'd call," Bella says, ignoring the plates of food on the coffee table. "They could get hurt. It's not worth it—"

"Yes, it is," Edmund cuts off. "Bella, you have made my brother happier and trust me, there was not a day in the years I have been alive that I did not wish for my brother to meet the person who would bring back the light in his eyes all those years ago. Trust me, saving you is worth it, for none of us could ever look into his eyes for the next hundred years if he loses you," he insists, moving to face Bella. He locks eyes with the girl and smiles. "I can't lose my brother again, Bella. You brought him back to me, so I will fight for you."

Bella smiles gratefully at Edmund, her eyes glimmering with tears, but their moment is ruined as Alice freezes next to Edmund, her hand going rigid in his hold.

"What do you see?"

"T-The tracker. He just changed course, I—"

Edmund rushes to grab a pencil and paper. Once he placed it in front of her, Alice's hand moved swiftly across the page, sketching a room.

"Where will it take him?"

"Mirrors," Alice answered, her eyes glancing forward as if she was there herself. Bella watches the sketch; the room becomes more clearer and . clearer. "It's a room of mirrors."

There it was. That gnawing feeling. There was something familiar with the sketch and she didn't quite like it.

"How do the visions work? Edward said they weren't always certain," Bella says.
