Chapter 4: Bachelors in the Opposite of Paradise

Meanwhile, the guys went to Snarfunkles's Roller Rink and Arcade and they all sat down, eating pizza. The others started asking Branch one question over and over.

"So have you guys picked a place to live yet?" Biggie asked.

"Mm-hmm," Fuzzbert added.

"We have our eyes on some places, but we haven't decided. Besides, she told me she needs to tell Poppy about it. We've talked to her dad, but the way Poppy might take it won't exactly be a walk in the park," Branch explained.

"Well, that is her little sister you're looking after," Cooper pointed out.

"But she knows he would always protect her. You protected her from getting eaten by spiders and brought her back to life when she almost died. Poppy saw it herself," Guy Diamond added.

"Yeah. Bridget and I have had trouble with stuff like that. You don't get much privacy in a castle nowadays," Gristle explained.

"Yeah. I'm just surprised that her dad was okay with it, after everything that's happened. But he trusts us and we should find a place soon," Branch said.

At that moment, someone burst in the room and they looked at the figure with fear and confusion. The figure raised her head to show herself with a dangerous smirk on her face and the others saw it was the chef Bergen. Gristle stood up and got in front of the trolls to protect them.

"Chef, what are you doing here?" Gristle demanded.

"I've come to pick up some loose ends," she answered, approaching them.

"You will not take any trolls. We had happiness all along," Gristle remarked.

"First of all, there's no other way to be happy except to eat a troll. And second, I've only come for one troll," Chef stated, looking at Branch.

Branch backed away slowly in shock.

"Branch, run!" Gristle commanded.

Branch obeyed as the others held off Chef. But it didn't help and Chef got through them then grabbed Branch.

"You are part one of my plan. You're coming with me," she smirked.

"No I'm not," Branch said and bit her finger.

She let go and he ran off. But she still managed to get him again and ran out the door. The others tried to get her, but she was nowhere in sight. And neither was Branch.

"We have to tell Jamie," Biggie said.

"She's gonna be really upset," Guy Diamond replied.

"But she needs to know. Gristle, where are the girls?" Cooper asked.

"At the castle in Bridget's room," Gristle answered and they ran all the way there.
