Chapter 13: "Once Upon a December" While Being Held Captive By Spiders

The spiders dragged Jamie to their territory and stuck her in one of their webs. Jamie continued to struggle out of there until they hissed at her. She stopped as they watched her intensely.

"Time to take matters into my own hands," Jamie sighed then began singing softly.

"Dancing bears, painted wings
Things I almost remember
And a song someone sings
Once upon a December

Someone holds me safe and warm
Horses prance through a silver storm
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory"

As she sang, she closed her eyes and pictured Branch in front of her. She could see him smiling at her as he held a hand out to her. She accepted it and they danced as she continued.

Glowing dim as an ember

Then Branch went away and she opened her eyes to see the spiders had fallen asleep. She took the opportunity to free herself. She managed to and snuck away as quickly as possible to get to Branch.

She made it back to see him asleep, but before she could wake him up, Creek came up behind her, cupped her mouth shut, and dragged her away. She struggled to get to Branch, but she started to feel weak. Creek made this drug to knock someone out and he put it on his hand. Jamie was starting to lose consciousness, but not before Creek told her this.

"You will be mine, no matter what," he said.

"Never," she answered before darkness consumed her.

He dragged her back to the spiders to see them asleep, tied Jamie to a rock, and caressed her cheek.

"I will make sure you end up with me," he whispered and went back to guard Branch.
