Trolls Part 2 (Branch X Jamie)

Chapter 9: "If I Never Knew You"

Creek went off to see if anyone was coming and at that moment, Branch started to sing about Jamie.

[Branch:]
"If I never knew you
If I never felt this love
I would have no inkling of
How precious life can be

If I never held you
I would never have a clue
How at last I'd find in you
The missing part of me

In this world so full of fear
Full of rage and lies
I can see the truth so clear

So dry your eyes

I'd have lived my whole life through

Meanwhile, Jamie, Poppy, the other Trolls, Bridget, and Gristle had made camp and all were asleep. Well, except Jamie.

[Jamie:]
"I thought our love would be so beautiful
Somehow we'd make the whole world bright

I never knew that fear and hate could be so strong
All they'd leave us were these whispers in the night

But still my heart is saying we were right"

For the next part, their voices were overlapping while they thought of their favorite memories together: when they met (two years after Branch's grandmother was killed (he was getting more supplies for his bunker and she decided to help him)), when they hung out everyday, when she gave him the note about her loving him, when he saved her from the spiders, their conversation at the campfire when Poppy was asleep, when he told Bridget what to say to Gristle and he meant those for Jamie, when he read Jamie's note, returned her colors, and they said that they loved each other, their first kiss, the two songs they sang after that, when he proposed, and any memory they spent together after that.

[Jamie:]
"Oh if I never knew you"

[Branch:]
"There's no moment I regret"

[Jamie:]
"If I never knew this love"

[Branch:]
"Since the moment that we met"

[Jamie:]
"I would have no inkling of"

[Branch:]
"If our time has gone too fast"

[Jamie:]
"How precious life can be"

[Branch:]
"I've lived at last"

Jamie closed her eyes and thought to herself, 'I can't leave you, Branch.'

Branch thought to himself, 'You'll never leave me, Jamie. No matter what happens to me, I'll always be with you. Forever.'

They both cried a little out of worry for the one they loved.

[Branch:]
"And I'm so grateful to you
I'd have lived my whole life through
Empty as the sky"

[Jamie:]
"Never knowing why"

[Both:]
"Lost forever
If I never knew you"

Creek didn't hear Branch but when Jamie sang, Poppy woke up to listen. When she was done, she buried her head in her knees and cried. Poppy got up and hugged her. Jamie didn't object and embraced her as she cried. Poppy tried to calm her down, assuring her everything will be okay.

"Branch is strong. He won't stop until he gets back to you," Poppy said.

"But who knows what she could be doing to him right now. Maybe you were right; it's probably not a good idea to move out of the Troll Tree," Jamie remarked.

"No. He can still protect you. But first, we're going to get him home so you two can get married and your lives will be all cupcakes and rainbows again," Poppy explained.

Jamie giggled and responded, "But no scrapbooking or glitter."

"Aww man!" Poppy whined, making Jamie laugh.

They hugged and Poppy went back to sleep. Jamie looked up at the brightest star and closed her eyes.

"Please be okay, Branch," she whispered.

Branch looked at the same star, closed his eyes, and whispered, "Please be okay, Jamie."

They went to sleep, hopeful the other was safe.

A/N I am freaking out over this. By the way, this song was cut from Pocahontas and I'm mad it was. It's my favorite from the movie. Alright, back to the fan fiction.
