Chapter 25: Carson’s P.O.V.
Right after school on Monday, I took my car from the student lot and drove out to practice with my boys. As I drove out to the practice space they rented, I thought about how lucky I was.
I’ve liked Panic since I was a kid and now I’m actually in their band. If they knew all the dorky things I did… Scrapbooks, photoshopping pictures, joining their fan club, fan girling to no tomorrow… I wrote a Panic at the Disco fan fiction!
I’m glad that’s behind me now though because I don’t think the boys would be as comfortable around me if they knew I could recite all their heights without asking them first.
Pushing the thoughts from my mind, I parked in front of the practice space and headed inside.
“Hey!” Jon, Spencer, Ryan, and Brendon all said at once. I smiled and waved at them.
Spencer got up from the folding chair he was sitting in, put his phone in his pocket, and clapped his hands. “Alright, let’s start with an old one, Camisado.”
“Oh the memories,” Jon said wistfully as he picked up his bass.
Brendon closed his laptop and got up from the table he was sitting in front of. “Carson, can you play the guitar part yet?” He held up his sling bitterly, indicating that he couldn’t.
I shrugged. “I’ve been practicing.”
Before I could argue, he threw me a guitar. Surprising myself, I caught it and put the strap behind my head.
“One, two, one two three four!” Spencer yelled.
I focused so hard on getting every note right that I didn’t even pay attention to anyone else. By the end of the song I was breathless because I was so absorbed in the guitar I forgot to breathe.
“Wow, you’re a natural, Carson!” Jon said. “So awesome.”
“I’m a pretty good teacher aren’t I?” Ryan said, smirking at me. I elbowed him in the ribs.
After playing a couple sets, I was literally sweating and had to excuse myself to the bathroom.
“Let’s call it a night with the instruments guys, we need to talk about some stuff,” Spencer announced before I shut the bathroom door.
I splashed some water over my face and came out, sitting next to Brendon, who was on his laptop again.
I saw a picture of an apartment building on his screen.
“What are you doing?” I asked.
“Looking for an apartment downtown,” he replied boredly, struggling to click the keypad with his left hand.
“Downtown? That’s exciting.”
“Well, it seems like we’ll be staying here for a while and honestly,” he dropped his voice to a carrying whisper, “I can’t live in close courters with them anymore.”
“Hey!” Ryan argued, causing Brendon to grin.
“See, he’s so sensitive, it’s annoying.”
“I’m sensitive? I’m not the one who cries myself to sleep every night moaning about my arm. ‘My life is over!’ You’re like a 13 year old girl.” Brendon got up out of his seat and clenched his jaw, walking towards Ryan.
Jon, Spencer, and I almost held our breath, surprised by Ryan’s outburst.
“What are you gonna’ do?” Ryan yelled in Brendon’s face.
Brendon balled his fists and clenched his jaw even further. After glaring at Ryan for a few seconds, he went past Ryan, purposely running into him with his shoulder, and slammed the door on his way out.
Ryan snorted. “He is something else…” he said to himself. Then he looked at my cautious face, Jon’s disappointed one, and Spencer’s angry one.
“Leave it to you two to ruin a nice evening.”
“He started it!”
“Now who sounds like a thirteen year old girl? He was joking, Ryan. You, like always, were the one to take it too far.” Spencer said calmly.
“I’m going to head home,” I interjected awkwardly. Looking down at the floor, I exited the room.

I wanted to write a chapter with the whole band, so there you go. Sorry it's pretty bad I just wanted something up. Next Monday will be better because tomorrow is my last day of school! Horay! And Teen Wolf is very distracting...
