Chapter 11

'about the summer'

Mackenzie

Johnny and I where still at Saint Constance park, we where sat on the swings gently swaying to and froe.

"Johnny we need to talk!" I said sternly dragging my feet along the gravel floor, stopping the swing from moving.

"Okay go for it" he replied, intrigued as to what could be this important.

"it's about the summer" I sighed.

"we promised we wouldn't talk about it" he said rather agitated.

"Johnny, I'm pregnant" I said quickly almost hoping he hadn't heard.

"what? but we? yah know?" he said awkwardly.

F L A S H B A C K

I went to the local chemist.
I bought two, just in case.
I stared at myself in the mirror,
How could my life get so messed up?
I looked down at the tests again...They've got to be wrong.
I lightly let a tear slip down my rosy red cheeks.
I then heard a knock at my bathroom door,

"Kenz, it's Maddie, can I come in, I need your opinion on this dress" she said.
I quickly hid the tests in my makeup bag and opened up the door.

"It looks great" I stated.

"Thanks" she hugged me tight.

I then turned and looked at my blotchy eyes in the mirror, I tried to fix up my hair.
"Oh...Kenzie baby, what's happened" Maddie asked me as she kindly took over sorting out my hair,

"Just school drama" I lied, I hate it when I lie to her,  we normally share everything.

"Don't worry, graduation this year, then your free like I am" she said, wiping the remaining tears from under my eyes.

"Yet you still haven't moved out" I replied.

"Because you still need me" she said, lovingly.

"Oh look at the time!" She beamed. "I'm going on a date" she continued.

"With that guy from the other day?" I questioned.

"Oh no he's old news" she said, giggling.

"You change boys like I change clothes" I answered.

funny story actually, so today I went out for dinner and my parents said it was like really posh, so I dressed up and walked in and everyone was dressed casual, I looked so out of place, I got a drink and stood at the bar, I leant over trying to impress someone and I lent on the door and fell through and got covered in cola.
