Three days had gone by and break was getting closer, but Luke and I still hadn't talked about the kiss. That was fine by me, I wanted to avoid it at all costs. As long as it never happened again, I was completely fine acting as if it never happened. I was curled up on my bed reading a book contently while Luke played video games. It was unusual for me to read without reading to him, but it felt nice having time to myself. Plus, I'm not too sure how Luke would feel about Wuthering Heights.
"Shit!" Luke curses as he clearly dies or something in his game, my eyes flicker up from my book and I smirk at him. Watching as he whipped the controller at the wall, I laugh lightly and return to my book as Luke's phone starts ringing.
"Hello?" He picks up, "what? Uhhhh I don't know, what time? Maybe, I'm not feeling good. No Michael... I swear," at this point, I let my gaze fall on Luke and his conversation with my brother.
"Oh, okay. Who's all going? You sure she'll come?" He asks, looking over at me, bringing his lip ring between his teeth. I raise my eyebrows at him, intrigued to find out where I would be going.
Luke chuckles, "alright, I'll tell her she doesn't have a choice. Eight? Okay, sounds good."
I look at Luke as he hangs up his phone, I knew Michael wasn't too happy about us hanging out, but he was starting to tolerate it more. He didn't know we shared a room still, but he knew I was around Luke a lot.
"What was that about?" I ask, and Luke smirks at me.
"Michael demands you come to some party tonight," he says, taking off his plain black tank top and replacing it with his 'destroy yourself' shirt, even though he knew how much I hated it.
"That's funny," I scoff, half referring to Luke's shirt, but mostly to the fact Michael thought he could drag me to a party. Especially since he knew how out of hand I got before everything happened.
"Lilah, what's the worse that could happen?" He asks, fixing his hair in the mirror on the wall. I wince.
"I've heard that before," I whisper and Luke gives me a sympathetic look before making his way over to the bed and sitting next to me.
"Hey, if I'm there. I'm not going to let anything happen to you alright? I'll beat some ass tonight if I have to," he says smiling and I couldn't help but smile back.
"Luke... I still don't know..." I press, really not wanting to go.
"It's literally just a small gathering with some of Calum's old family friends, nothing too out of hand. Maybe some drinking, and a little weed, but it'll be small." He reassures me, placing his hand on my knee, but I move away from his touch. I found myself doing that lately. Ever since Luke kissed me, something clicked and I realized that the whole touchy-feely relationship we had was wrong. So his touch I once leaned into for comfort, I know found myself shying against, and I felt like Luke was starting to notice.
"I don't want to lose it okay, I've given up drinking. I don't need to be back in that part of my life." I tell him, not bothering to move to get ready.
"Plus," I further come up with excuses, "I don't even have anything to wear."
Luke gives me a look, before reaching into my drawer and pulling out a pair of jeans and a black tank top. I give him a look.
"Why would you even ask if I'd wear a tank top out...?" I ask and Luke stops and thinks, before he realizes what I meant.
"Oh, well then wear that one blouse you have. It's nothing big," he shrugs and I sigh, grabbing the clothes he gave me and walk to the washroom to change, put on a little bit of makeup, and take my hair out of my bun and replace it with a high pony.
