Chapter 35: Getting Drunk + accidents

1 Day later

Leon: (got up from the bed tiredly and touched his head in pain)

Vilu: Oh, Leon you're up. How are you feeling? I made you some hot tea.

Leon: I have this awful headache. Oh god... (Held his head)

Vilu: Here, I've brought you some aspirin. It'll help with your headache.

Leon: (Confused) What happened?

Vilu: You really don't remember?

Leon: No....

Vilu: Well something did happen. Nothing serious though.

Leon: What is it? What happened?

Vilu: Well.... We were about to leave for my dad's house to celebrate Masons birthday when you got a call from you record label.

~Flashback~

Leon: (Answered) Hello?

Onika: Hello Leon. Are you free right now?

Leon: Why? What's going on? Is this about my music?

Onika: Uhm no, your music's doing fine. In fact, it's doing exceptionally well. But it's not about that.

Leon: Then what is it about?

Onika: It's the company's 50th anniversary today and we're throwing a huge party. We're inviting all our artists, clients and staffs. And I was wondering if you could come too.

Leon: Oh, that sounds fun but my son's birthday is today and I'm going to my father in law's house to celebrate it.

Vilu: It's okay Leon, you can go.

Leon: Uhm, just give me a second Onika. (Put down the phone) What do you mean Violetta? I can't miss Mason's birthday party.

Vilu: We can go now and celebrate at my dad's house then in the evening you can go to your record labels party.

Leon: Wait a minute, how did you know it was a party?

Vilu: Her voice is really, really loud. It's not even on speaker mode.

Leon: So does that mean you're okay with me going?

Vilu: Of course. I know how important your record label is to you.

Leon: But Mason is too. It's his birthday tomorrow. I don't wanna go and then later make Mason upset or something.

Vilu: You won't. We'll celebrate it together. My dad bought him a bunch of toys. On top of that he'll have our huge dinosaur present. He'll be so happy he won't even notice you're gone for a couple of hours.

Leon: Are you sure?

Vilu: Go and enjoy yourself for a while. It'll be fun. (Smiled)

Leon: Alright then... (On the phone) Hello Onika? Yeah, I'll be there. When does it start?

Leon: Oh god... Let me guess. I came home drunk?

Vilu: (Sighed) Unfortunately you did.

~Flashback~

Leon: (Unsteadily opened the door and came in)

Vilu: (Gasped) LEON?! What happened to you?

Leon: (Unsteady)

Vilu: (Held him) Have you been drinking?!

Leon: I.... I just need a glass of wine.
