(Annie's Dream)

"Hello?" I called. It was dark, and stormy. I had no clue where the hell I was. I saw someone walking towards me. Looked familiar. I placed my hand over my eyes, to get a better view and block away the hard, pouring rain. Looking closer, it was my father. He was screaming. As if he was warning me. "No! No!" He cried. I blinked. That's what he cried when I volunteered for him. Looking behind me, a machete came down for my neck."

She gasped herself awake. Sweating like a dog, she gulped down a breath. She wondered who was holding the machete, where she was, how her father got there, why she was killed, and if there were gonna be more.

Annie did her morning routine, and met Jean in front of a huge door. He had his legs crossed, as he waited.

"The only reason why I waited was because they said each town, must go in with their partner." Jean explained.

"That means we're the last ones, aren't we?" Annie asked. Jean nodded, and they walked in.

They sat side, by side along with everyone else. One of the leaders were telling them which section was which.

When he released them, Annie walked around. She found most of the competitors - including Jean - practicing knife throws.

Annie thought that it would be best to know how to tie knots, and make fires before she goes with knife throwing and all.

Jean met up with her.

"I didn't want to do knife throws." He said. Annie walked up to the knot section.

The person smiled as they approached, and he happily taught them how to probably tie knots and what best techniques to use them.

Annie walked around, and found a bow shooting section. Walking up, the person told her what to do.

Annie grabbed one of the metal bows, and the quiver filled with arrows. She stood in front of the window, and aimed for the farthest target.

She steadied herself, took a deep breath, and freed the arrow.

The arrow flew across the little room, and hit the target right in the middle. The trainer was shocked and challenge Annie more, to make sure what he saw was true and real.

Annie did this for a while, until there was no arrows left in the quiver.

Long day of training, and Annie sat in her room. A knock was at the door, and Jean came in.

"Hey." He said.

"Hi." Annie said, Jean came in her room and leaned against the door. There was a long period of silence between the two.

Annie looked up.

"Can't sleep?" She asked him. Jean shook his head.

"No. I...I still can't get rid of my mother's face, the day we were picked."

"Well the day I volunteered, and you were picked because I wasn't picked out of the bowl." Annie corrected.

"You were still picked as the volunteer for your father." Jean corrected. And he was correct.

"Looks like we all can't get rid of something." She said.

"Indeed." Jean replied.

"So...are you nervous?"

Jean nodded, and he looked up.

"You?"

Annie shook her head.

"No. I'm horrified. I don't even know what the arena will look like." Annie said. "Or how many Titans were be put there."

"I don't think there is a arena." Jean said.
