Annie struggled to get herself untied. She looked up and down, up and down until the knot loosened enough for her to pull to rope, shove it back into her bag, hop off the tree, and run for it.
The flames grew, and grew. Annie never ran this fast in her whole life. Annie dodged a falling tree branch, and took a right.
Then all of the sudden, a tree crashed in front of her. Coming from an unknown location. Annie took a left, nearly falling.
Running out of breath, she grabbed a hold of a fallen tree that wasn't on fire, but when Annie turned a fireball zoomed after her.
Annie gasped, and turned her body to the left. The fireball bursted into sparks, and burned Annie's right knee.
Annie heard the sound of water. She raced towards it, ignoring her limp. She found the water source, and jumped in.
There was a huge boulder, Annie used to block herself from other competitors.
She looked at her burnt leg. Bringing her leg up, it flopped back down into the water. This healing was gonna take some time, since she didn't have her Titan with her.
Resting her head on the boulder, closing her eyes, getting ready to pass out, laughter was heard in a nearby distance.
Snapping her eyes open, she looked on the other side of the lake, and found Jessica and James.
Annie ducked her head, but Jessica spotted her.
"I found her!" She called, and pointed at her. Annie flinched, and ran back into the woods, them following her.
The flames were gone, which led Annie into curiosity. Jessica and James were getting closer and closer.
Panting, Annie couldn't run no more because of her leg. She jumped onto a high tree and started to climb.
James caught up, jumped high, but missed her leg within an inch. He fell and looked up at Annie, Annie on the other hand stopped climbing when she was high enough.
Jessica then came.
"I got her." James said, trying to climb the tree. Whenever he got a hold of the trunk, he just slide back down.
"No, I got her." Jessica said, aiming an arrow at Annie. Annie blinked and widened her eyes. Her bow. Her arrows.
Jessica fired, and missed Annie's head. It almost hit her ear. If Sasha were here, and shot that bow, Annie would've been dead.
Jessica fired again, but this time the arrow landed higher. Hidden in the leaves somewhere. Annie bowed her head.
"Why don't you throw the sword!" She called. James grabbed the handle of the sword, and aimed it almost like a dart before his sister stopped him.
"Easy, brother. Why don't we give her some time? She has to come down at some point. And besides, she won't be able to climb or run with that leg. Let's give her a day, or just until she gives up." She said. James put away his sword.
"I'll get the wood." He said, walking away to start on their camp. Leaving Jessica to watch Annie like a hawk.
Annie climbed a few more branches up, before we picked a spot and rested there. Tying herself, onto the branch so she won't fall and become an easy target for them.
She winced in pain, as her leg began to burn. She weakly covered it with her hand, and rested her head as the sun began to set.
Back at town, Levi watched Annie as she was in pain. So he got up, talked to one of the guards, and left.
It was nighttime, and Jessica layed next to her brother. Practicing her knife throws.
Annie watched them silently, until she heard the sound of chimes and whistling. Looking up she found a small container, with a parachute attached to it floating down to her.
It got caught in a stick branch, right above Annie's head. Annie slowly grabbed it, and read the small note.
Use it in good hands.
-L. Ackerman
Annie looked at the note, and looked up slightly.
"Levi." She whispered. She unscrewed the lid, and inside was burn cream. She dipped her finger, and spread the cream around her wound. She relaxed, and whispered a "thank you" to Levi.
She was now able to rest.
The sun was bright. Annie opened her eyes, and took a look at her wound. Her leg was good as new. As if the fires never even happened.
Annie looked down, and found the two siblings sound asleep.
"Pst." A voice whispered up above. Annie looked up, and found...APRIL?! Hidden in the leaves and branches of the trees, she was trying to tell Annie something.
Looking up, Annie found a bees nest of wasps. She opened her mouth sightly, almost releasing a gasp. She looked back at April, who was pointing up to the nest, and back down towards Jessica and James.
April wanted Annie to use her knife, and make the branch supporting the nest fall and kill Jessica and James.
Annie climbed up, after untying herself, and headed for the nest. She wanted to be far, but close enough to cut the branch.
Annie studied what she was currently doing, not letting everything else bother. She regretted that mistake, with Jean when the games started.
She slowly cut the branch, bees crawling her skin. It felt weird, but she had to ignore it.
She almost dropped her knife, and let out a quiet cry of pain, when the bee stung her.
She cut faster and faster. Getting stung more and more. Then the branch fell to the ground.
It fell slowly, but cracked open in no waste of time. Thousands of bees shot out, attacking anything in sight.
Jessica screamed for life, and took a run for it but with that many bees after her, she didn't make it far.
"Reach the water!" James called, while swatting awake bees. Annie waited until it was clear enough to come down.
She jumped off, and ran the opposite direction of Jessica, and James. Trying to reach another water source herself, she remembered about her bows and arrows.
Stopping she turned around, and ran back where she started.
With bees no where in sight, she searched her the body of Jessica, if Jessica was dead.
Tripping, she found the now corpse of Jessica. Bee stings covered her body. A little too much.
Annie tried to free the bow, but from Jessica's swollen ass hand it was hard too. Annie had to use her knife again.
It was extremely gross, but that didn't matter at this point. Finally getting her bow, it wasn't hard for the quiver to be removed.
Getting up, with what she needed, Annie also looted Jessica's bag of stuff that would be useful. Nothing much, but she still took them.
Hearing rustles, she whipped around. Vision turning blurry. Annie expected to see James, coming back for his sister but instead...it was Jean.
"Annie! What are you doing?! Go run, and get out of here!" Annie couldn't quite hear, or even tell what he was saying. Until she finally made out the word, "run."
Annie then ran away from Jean. Running faster and faster, she watched as a ship carried Jessica, AND later James upwards.
Annie was very, very far away. No where to be found by other competitors. Hopefully.
Feeling tired, hungry, and dehydrated Annie fell, without warning and closed her eyes.
