Goldennight stepped out of the tunnel where he was hiding into the entrance cave and walked towards the five dragons gathered around Clay
“Goldennight. . .” King Cobra began, but Goldennight shook his head slightly.
“Why don’t we go somewhere private to talk?” Acekiller suggested, unconsciously touching the end of his longbow.
“That's what I was about to suggest.” Goldennight said, and lifted into the air, the rest of them except Clay following. The birds were chirping as he flew past them, suddenly squawking in fear. The cold air flying past his ears making a loud sound as he glided.
Goldennight flew up to one of the peaks of Jade Mountain and landed at a flat clearing, daisies surrounded the flat grass area.
As everyone landed, King Cobra looked at him and asked, “Why were we called here?”
“It wasn't my doing-” Goldennight began, but a voice interrupted him, saying “It was I who summoned you five here, King of the HybridWings.”
A dragon slowly stepped out from behind the peak of the mountain and strode towards them, his golden scales gleaming in the sun. Across his back swung a sword with a sheath of gold, the handle being the same material as the sheath. When he looked at Goldennight, his eyes were golden.
Cobra and Acekiller knelt, but the dragon made a negative gesture and said “Stand up. I am here as a friend and an equal.”
Cobra was the first to stand up, saying “Kuldr, we are honored.”
Kuldr ignored what he said and instead, pointed at Goldennight, gesturing for him to stand next to him. Goldennight backed up nervously, but then steeled his nerves and stepped forward to stand next to the god.
“Goldennight is in a prophecy that was first spoken thousands of years ago.” Kuldr said. “Over the years, this prophecy was forgotten, but it is upon us now.”
“What do you mean?” Acekiller asked, slinging his longbow of his back, putting an arrow to the string.
“This prophecy speaks of a time of peace that will be shattered when Andlat, the god of the dead, tries to take over and destroy the center of the peace. Jade Mountain is that center of peace; and Andlat is preparing to destroy it.”
“How…?” King Cobra began, but at that moment Acekiller shouted “Cobra, get down!”
Cobra dropped to the ground as something shot over his head, swinging wildly until it clanged against a rock nearby. Shaking, Goldennight saw that it was a sword, in the style of the HybridWings, with extra detail added to the handle.
Cobra whirled around, drawing his sword in a single fluid movement. Following his gaze, Goldennight saw that standing atop the peak of Jade Mountain was a dragon made of bones, his eyes glowing a pitch black light.
“Tinjus.” King Cobra snarled.
“You are have no claim to the throne, just like your father.” Tinjus hissed, obviously trying to anger Cobra.
Cobra growled, but stayed where he was, glaring up at Tinjus.
“You all die today.” Tinjus hissed, and jumped down at them, another sword forming in his talon.
As Tinjus fell towards them, Goldennight closed his eyes, waiting for the sword to cut him in half.
