“I believe this,” Jerboa began. “Is our first visitor from the lost continent.”

Moon was speechless, the dragon was of a dark green shade. She had spikes along her wings, cheeks and legs which varied in length. She had bandages running down her chest and wings. Moon slipped into the dragon’s thoughts, she was feeling scared and paranoid.

Ivy’s going to kill me, Ivy’s going to kill me, the dragon thought repeatedly.

She glanced over to Qibli who was, as expected, examining the dragon from head to tail.

Just don’t say your name, don’t say where you came from, you’ll be okay, the dragon recited.

“What’s your name?” Moon tried.

The dragon perked up her ears and seemed to have shrunk. “Me? Uh- I’m not supposed to tell?” she said with uncertainty.

SHUT UP RAFFLESIA, SHUT UP, the dragon mentally yelled.

“Her name’s Rafflesia,” Moon said, she sat down on the ground as the dragon made a horrified face.

“Wha- How? Oh, mind reading. . .” Rafflesia said. “Of course, why not?”

This stirred up Qibli. “You sound like you’ve met someone with mind reading before, have you?” he asked.

This alarmed Rafflesia even more. THINK HAPPY THOUGHTS, THINK HAPPY THOUGHTS, she thought. Moon winced at the mental yelling, but as loud as Rafflesia’s thoughts were, Moon could make out something trying to be buried under all her thoughts. She tried to wedge herself through mess of thoughts and made out an image.

It was a face of a dragon, he was a NightWing with the same silver scales next to his eyes just like Moon’s. Another mind reader, Moon thought. The serious face of this dragon started to look familiar, she drew closer to the image.

As Moon did, she flinched back at a sting in her head. She saw that same dragon running down the halls to protect other dragons from an explosion, she saw the unsmiling face of this dragon grin ever so slightly with other dragons she recalled. “Nightfighter,” Moon said aloud with realization.

“I HAD ONE JOB,” Rafflesia yelled, she hit her head onto the wall and yelped from what seemed like pain. Jerboa tilted her head in confusion.

Qibli put one claw to his forehead, he then shook his head. “That NightWing right? The one you introduced to me in the prey center?”

“Yes!” Moon replied with a raised voice. “How did we forget about him?”

“Actually,” Rafflesia spoke up, she rubbed her head from the pain she inflicted on herself. “Since you two know, I guess I can tell you.”

“What? What are you telling us?” Qibli asked.

“He sort of made you all forget about his existence, it was to divert from some kind of bad future,” Rafflesia said.

“Tell us,” Moon said. “Tell us what happened.”

Rafflesia sighed. “Here we go again. So it all began when he and his winglet ditched school. . . with permission.”

Thus, marks the end of three generations of stories, two of which never will exist. The fight of Darkstalker, of The Eclipse and of the gods. This would have been their story, of the Darkest Days; the prophecy that never happened.
