Chapter 7 - Telling Riley Again
They returned hand in hand to the Mattews apartment.
Riley looked quite shocked when they walked back in the room, she almost dropped the cake she had made earlier that day.
"Maya bay window, bay window right now!"
"Ok," Maya said as Riley practically dragged her to her room.
"Soo...."
"So what?" Maya said looking up at her.
"What happened out there? What did I miss? Tell me everything!"
"Well he asked if I like him,"
"What did you say?"
"Nothing I went silent."
"Did he say anything?"
"Yeah he gave me a whole speech on how he will always love me,"
"Good move,"
"I didn't hate it,"
"Then what?"
"I kissed him,"
"You kissed him, not the other way around."
"Yeah then we came back here, and you dragged me to the bay window."
"And here we are,"
"Could I go back now?"
"If you must,"
"You coming?"
"In a minute,"
"Riley are you ok?"
"Yeah,"
"Are you sure?"
Riley started crying
"No, Maya I,"
"It's alright, now tell me what's wrong peaches?" Maya said as she put her arms around Riley and gave a tight hug.
"Farkle, is he going to be alright?"
"He's going to be fine, he is strong and brave and smart he will be back before you know it,"
"You promise?" This question hung in the air for a few moments. I was unsure how to answer, this is a big promise.
"I promise, now dry your tears lets go back to dinner,"
When they returned Auggie and Josh were playing on the couch, Topanga was in the kitchen and Lucas was being grilled by Mr Mattews on the table.
"Dad what are you doing?" Riley said as the girls entered.
"Getting to know Lucas better,"
"Dad, really?"
"Yeah, his dating my second daughter, so of cause I care," Corey said without his eyes leaving Lucas'.
"Thanks Mr Mattews but you don't have to do that, you've know Lucas since middle school." Maya said approaching Lucas.
"Yeah Sir your making me uncomfortable," Lucas said.
"Corey let the poor kid go," Topanga interrupted.
"Fine, but he is going home now and Maya is sleeping over, got it," he said as his eyes drifted to Maya.
"Goodnight Mr and Mrs Mattews, goodnight Riley, Goodnight Maya." Lucas kissed her on the head then left.
"I guess I should ring my mum then," Maya said after Lucas left.
"Yeah I should probably get going, seen you around Corey." Josh said as he stood up and left.
Riley and Maya went into Riley's room to call Maya's Mum.
"Yeah, Hi Mum, sorry to interrupt I am staying at Riley's tonight, is that okay with you, okay thanks, bye, bye."
"Who is she on a date with anyway?" Riley said as she got out a pair of pjs for Maya.
"Shawn,"
"Really?"
"Yeah it's their 10th date,"
"Wow, I just can't believe it,"
"That's what I said when mum told me,"
