Chapter 49

Jeongyeon POV

It was finally time to head back to the peaceful times. It was time to end our pain. My heartbeat didn't hurt me anymore. I somehow felt like I was in a new atmosphere. A place where I was safe. The three of us walked back home like we've just achieved our goal. I watched how Chaeyoung was walking with triumphant steps beside Momo. I then wrapped an arm around her, leading her home. Momo was silent all the way, but she also looked tired.

As we reached the dorm, the members were still asleep so we decided to relax while we had the chance. We all collapsed in the living room as no one had the strength to go up the stairs. Chaeyoung fell asleep on a chair while Momo and I fell asleep next to each other on the carpet. I glanced at Momo a last time before falling asleep. But while my eyes were closed, I felt something brushing against my hand. Then I felt that someone was holding it. It was Momo. A little smile appeared on my face. We eventually slept while holding hands.

"Unnie, wake up!" I felt a soft pillow hitting my head.

I slowly opened my eyes. The light was hitting my face. I haven't seen light for a while now. I rubbed my sleepy eyes and stretched my body.

"Yahh, wake up there's breakfast" I saw a disappointed Dahyun in front of me.

"Just go ahead and eat, I'll be there soon" I said as I stood up.

I went to the bathroom and took a shower. I wore new clothes and went to the dining table. I sat next to Momo and started eating with the rest of the members.

"So, I heard that you caught the two criminals yesterday" Jihyo started the conversation.

"Yep, and they didn't have a single chance with us" I said proudly.

Chaeyoung remained silent. She must've been thinking about Mina. She hasn't been with her for so long, and the last time she saw her, was her getting in a car accident.

"Chaeyoung ah, Mina will come back. I promise" I said softly.

Everyone looked at Chaeyoung.

"But your last promise didn't go well" Chaeyoung said with a sad voice.

My heart ached. I knew she was right. I'm bad at promising people I care about.

"Chaeyoung ah......I'm sorry" all I could do was apologize.

Chaeyoung missed Mina so much that it started to hurt her. I didn't want Chaeyoung to be sad. I felt the same pain.

After I had eaten, I went over to Momo.

"Momo ya" I held her hand.

"Let's start over. Let's forget everything we've been through and start all over again" I stroke her hair.

She finally smiled. A real smile. The smile that I've missed for so long. I felt happy.

"Jeongyeon ah, I love you" Momo held my other hand.

"You know I love you too, right?"

She answered with a chuckle.

"Now, let's go and make unforgettable memories together"

We went to Momo's favorite restaurant and ordered jokbal. Momo was digging in her food as soon as it got served. I watched her eating happily. I've missed this. I've missed everything I had experienced with her. After we had eaten, we went to watch a movie. I remembered the first time we went to the movie together. We had a lot of fun, and I remembered how happy Momo was. Her happiness made me smile.

Once we got there, she started throwing popcorn at me. She wanted me to grab them with my mouth while she threw them in the air. She couldn't stop laughing at me. Her giggles were like music to my ears. I fell for her even more. Momo laid her head on my shoulder while we were watching the movie. I started feeding her popcorn. She held my hand. Her hand sent an electric shock through my body. I felt comfortable being beside her. I wished this would never end.

When we finished watching the movie, we went to the park. The place that changed everything. It was the place where we had our first kiss and the place where we broke up. And now it was the place where we were starting over. We walked through the park and admired the nature. I held Momo's hand and continued walking. We walked past the shining lake and reached the old tree. The tree we used to sit under and watch the sunset together. It felt like I was traveling back in time.

We laid down on the grass beside each other. I looked at the sky and held Momo's hand. The sky was slowly turning red. The cold breeze brushed against my skin and sent an overwhelming feeling through me. The air smelled like flowers mixed up with Momo's scent. It felt like heaven. I felt like I was healed. Like all my bruises and scars were fading away. I met Momo's eyes. My eyes didn't look away even for a second. I started admiring her. Her beautiful eyes that made my heart melt, and down to her pinkish lips that made me go crazy.

I caressed her face. Her scars were gone. She smiled. I felt like blushing for the first time. How is it possible for her to make me fall for her over and over again? She then chuckled and held my shoulder. She moved closer making me smile from ear to ear. Her face was so close to mine. She stared at me before landing her lips on mine. I closed my eyes kissing her back. This kiss felt different. It felt so special that I couldn't describe it. She pulled away and looked at me.

"Jeongyeon......you were the last piece to complete my heart"
