Chapter 4 - Too close
"At bakit ngayon ka lang? Hindi mo ba alam na halos mamatay na ako dito sa pag-alala sayo? Sabi mo babalik ka kaagad? Alas kwatro ka umalis tapos alas nwebe ka nakabalik? Asan doon sa oras 'yon ang babalik ka kaagad? Ha?! Limang oras kang nawala! Ang babalik kaagad ay isang oras o dalawang oras lang!" Mahabang litanya ni Lily habang nakameywang. Aakalain mo para siyang ina na pinapagalitan ang anak dahil matagal itong umuwi.
Kaya naman ganito siya ngayon dahil hindi niya ma-contact ang kaibigan niya. Saka lang niya natuklasan na naiwan pala nito ang kanyang telepono sa kwarto. Halos mabaliw siya sa kakaisip kung nasaan na ang kaibigan niya. Maraming masamang pumapasok sa kanyang isipan na pwede mangyari.
She knows that Vee is extremely capable in their field, but she can't help to worry.
Nakarating nga siya sa punto na kung hindi pa uuwi ang kaibigan niya ng alas dyes ng gabi ay tatawagan niya na talaga ang iba.
She looked at Victoria to make sure that she didn't have any scratches or blood in her clothers and body. Luckily! She didn't find any. She felt relieved and now she can breathe normally. She sat down at the couch and her eyes followed at Victoria who entered the kitchen. She focused her attention on the tv watching some drama.
Inilapag naman ni Victoria sa coffee table ang isang slice ng cake na binili niya kanina sa harap ni Lily. It is her way to apologize to her friend for making her worry. Tumingin naman si Lily sakanya ng nakataas ang kilay, she just gave a small smile and gestured the cake in front of her friend.
Walang imik naman na kunin ito ni Lily at dahan-dahang kinain. Unti-unting humupa ang galit at tampo niya sa kanyang kaibigan.
"Somebody followed me."
Muntik ng mabuluan ni Lily dahil sa sinabi ni Victoria. Her forehead crinkled and her brows furrowed. "What did you just say?" She asked, para siyang nabingi sa narinig niya.
"I already took care of them." Victoria stated like it was nothing while taking a bite piece of the cake.
"What?"
"I also already called your boyfriend to took care of the bodies." She said while letting out a teasing grin at Lily
"He is not my boyfriend!" She felt that her cheeks automatically turned tomato
Victoria find a new scheming idea for her friend who is currently flustered to liven up the mood,"who?"
"Trev!" Lily exasperatedly exclaimed
"Sinong Trev?"
"Easton!" her eyes widen when she realized Victoria's objectives are, "stop teasing me you meanie! We just got involved in a mission together. Geez! Where did you get that kind of gossip?" while pointing defensively at her friend and Lily realized she got grilled shadily by her bestfriend, she cleared her throat and she asked, "ilan sila?" seryosong tanong niya sa kaibigan
"Two."
"Who are they?"
"That's why I want you to find out assign who ever you want. More efficient the better."
Lily grunted at the thought of it. May taong sumasagi na sa kanyang isipan but she don't want to see him. 'No, bakit iwas ka ba ng iwas? Kung may gagawin man siya sakin patayin ko nalang. Yeah, patayin ko nalang.' She convincingly thought sabay tango-tango pa.
"Baliw ka na."
Napatigil naman siya sa pagtango dahil sa sinabi ng kaibigan, "what?" she said with a hint of annoyance.
