“Marcus...Marcus” i tried shaking my husband awake.
“Wake up” “what” he groaned.
“Happy anniversary sweet heart” i chimed. “Happy anniversary” he answered.
“I have something planned for the both of us” i smiled.

“What is it” he questioned.
“Get dressed and you’ll see”. We both got out of bed and got dressed. It was the end of july when Marcus and i got married.

I snap back into reality after happily thinking about our
wonderful past. “Let’s go” i announce.

We both jump into the car and i pull out of our driveway. I drive down the road listening to the soft music.

“Where are we going?” i giggle “it’s a surprise honey, it wouldn’t be
much of a surprise if you knew now would it?” “haha i guess not”.

We continue down our little path to the unknown. I turn the
road and pull up next to a path in the woods. “Woods
huh?”

“Just wait till we get where we’re supposed to be” i scolded. He just nodded and we both got out of the car.

We walked the long and skinny trail. The trail curved up going up a little hill.

Once we reached the end we had to take a detour. We crossed into the woods passing falling limbs and moving
away leaves.

There’s an opening in the woods, between two trees. “This
way” i call out to marcus.

We both huff and puff moving
our legs up the tall hill. It becoming harder and harder for us as we get closer and closer.

A bright ray of sun meets our eyes and simi blinds us. I put my hand over my eyes to shield the sun. “here we are”.

We both walk out further to reach the edge of a cliff. You can see the city from over the cliff. “Do you remember this place” i question Marcus.

He takes a deep breath in and close his eyes. “Yes-yes of course i remember”

I sit down on the soft bright green grass and cross my
legs.

I breath in the serenity and exhale the stress. After awhile Marcus joines me.
“This is where i proposed to you” Marcus announced.

“Yes 50 years ago”. “And making us 75” “don’t remind me” i chuckled.

We scooted in closer with each other overlapping our arms and embracing us in a hug. “I will remember that moment and this moment for the rest of my life” i spat out.

Marcus kissed me on my forehead and said “lets just enjoy this moment...forever”
