Victor sensed Stephanie's presence and turned to look at her. 'What was she doing here all Alone?' He saw a male figure approaching her from behind. He was ready to attack whomever it was if he tried to hurt her when he saw it was the Prince of Tyrus 'Joachim'. He saw Stephanie's eyes lit up in delight as she saw him. He read her and knew she was going to scream his name and run to him. 'She'll get into trouble if that happens' he thought.

He sent a message to her telling her not to move but his voice wasn't reaching her mind and he wondered why. Left wth no alternative, he drew Seraya to himself from behind and he hugged him unconciously.

He saw the sad look on Stephanie's face. 'Dammit why couldn't he reach her again? He watched as a tear escaped her eyes and the Prince hugged her from behind. He felt a sharp pain in his head but he didn't move. The pain wasn't ordinary. That was when it dawned on him that the reason he wasn't able to reach her thoughts again was the Prince. 'The Prince is a Dark Witch. Not just a witch but a grand one'. His eyes widened at the realization.

"Stay Still" Joachim told her and brushed off the insect that was climbing her hair. He turned her to face him. "I thought you had gotten lost on the open fields" he said sarcastically. "What are you doing here staring at strangers? They could be thieves you know". She ignored him and turned around to look at Victor but he was gone.

Joachim lifted her from the ground and she kicked at him throwing punches on his back but he ignored her and placed her on his horse. "I want my horse" she snapped at him. "I'll tell the guards to come get it" he told her and mounted his horse taking the space behind her. "Hiya!"

Stephanie stared at the stars from her room window recounting what had happened that afternoon. She promised herself she was not going to cry again until Victor gave her a reasonable explanation. Grabbing her coat from it's hanger, she climbed out her room window.

Victor pondered on what had happened in the woods that afternoon. He had learnt of how dark witches blocked their self and their fellow witches from external forces.

'Joachim had blocked Stephanie from his reach. But how did he do it so quickly if Stephanie was human?.'

To block a human against external forces like that required a lot of work- the lighting up of candles and preparing some potions. 'Yes he felt it within him that the Prince was a dark witch but it wasn't enough reason. Something was wrong and he was going to find out. Perhaps the Prince even knew he was a vampire that's why he blocked her from him'. He shook his head at the thought and turned to look at Seraya who was busy putting more wood into the fire place. He had put her under a spell so she could hug him. She had no memory of what happened. Moving away from the fire place, she bowed to him and he snapped his fingers setting the wood ablaze.

Minutes had gone by since she had been standing in the garden waiting for Victor. 'He wasn't coming, not after what happened today'. Thunder rumbled in the sky and lightening flashed making her shiver. She quickly got up to run to her room when the rain poured down heavily on her. She suddenly felt a hand on her shoulder and turned around to see Victor standing behind her. She frowned and flung his hand away from her. "Who's she?" She asked him. "She's family" he told her and her face quickly lit up with a smile. She noticed he wasn't wet even though the rain was still heavy. He removed his cloak and covered her with it then they appeared in his lair.

He laid her on his bed and told her to wait there while he went to bring her tea. She ignored him and pulled him into a kiss with her. He tried pulling away but she held on to his lower lip with her teeth and pulled him down with it. "Make love to me Victor. Now!"

He could read her mind now. She wasn't going to let him out of the room. He smiled and returned her kisses as they both sank in deep pleasures.

Seraya went into the woods to get more wood the next morning. She had seen Victor taking a cup of tea upstairs that morning. It dawned on her that Stephanie was in his room. She had cried and decided to distract herself by fetching wood.

She bumped into something hard and jerked up in fright. She didn't know how long she had been walking and noticed she had gone far into the woods. She was lost in her own thoughts.

"What do we have here?" The young man asked watching her with a cunning smile.

"Forgive me I wasn't watching were I was going" she told him and quickly turned around going the way she came. He appeared in front of her making her scream. Anywhere she turned to run, he appeared in front of her. "Well, well, well, let's see how fast you can run" he said still smiling. "Run"

She ran as fast as she could throwing quick glances behind her ti to see if he was following her but he still stood where he was. She threw one last look and he wasn't there again. Fear gripped her. She turned and bumped into him again. She fell backwards. Bile rose in her throat as he bared his fangs and smiled at her.

Suddenly the whole forest became dark. He pulled her up and turned her back to him. She closed her eyes and his fangs sank deep into her throat.
