Following the life of Luna Ashwell, an Australian high school student, we first meet her struggling to keep up in P.E. class. As she contemplates why the hell she has decided to take a grueling course for someone lacking in the athletic department, Luna is quickly reminded why.

A flawless God on the soccer field, Luke has been in Luna's eye line since the beginning of time. He's well-liked and has a facial aesthetic with the ability to make anyone's panties drop to the ground. Together with his goofy crew of mates, Luke and his friends practically run the school. While they shine from the top, Luna and her eccentric best friend Harley, sit at the bottom of the social chain.
While this fanfic may sound like a story with an overused plot device, LUNA is actually a story for our generation. It opens the floor for discourse, demolishes banal archetypes, and destroys stereotypical notions of slut-shaming through the eyes of unique, relatable characters. Although Luna is a tall, fair-skinned, blonde teenaged girl, don't let her looks deceive you. She is intelligent, unapologetically quirky, and absolutely hilarious. Luna comes from a whimsical family of vegetarian hippies, which makes her struggle to survive teenage hood in the most normal way possible, a lot more difficult.

The author brings the classic tale of the weird girl falling for the cool guy, and presents it in a more palatable way. It is exceptionally well-written, with emotional detail and realistic dialogue. Although LUNA is still an on-going story, it is a journey worth taking, and I am excited to see where the author takes the story. If you are in the mood for a fanfiction that's the perfect mixture of comedy, teen drama, and Luke Hemmings feels, then definitely check out LUNA, you won't regret it.
