I often search for POC stories to read on Wattpad. Sometimes I filter through pages and pages, switching up tags to find books containing characters who aren't the typical fair-skinned, blonde hair, blue eyed girl we're accustomed to reading about. It's a coming of age book with an emphasis on discovering oneself, more than finding romance in a small, New Zealand town. The author paints a beautiful picture of friendship and the Maori culture, chapter after chapter.
