Chapter 14- Nightmares

The air was hot and thick with a strange metallic scent. My heart pounded fast and hard as I ran through the darkness away from my assailant. Panting, I knew that I would never be fast enough to out run whatever it was that was after me. Suddenly, I stopped in my tracks and a breath escaped my chest, I starred at my own lifeless body lying in the darkness. I wore a beautiful and purely white dress. However, there were crimson splotches soiling its beauty. I looked at my dead face, there was blood spilling from my mouth and an open wound on my neck. After a long moment, I rushed over to my lifeless body, but as soon as I touched the corps a darkness as black as oil spread from my point of contact. The blackness engulfed my corps as I watched horrified. I was left there alone, tears welling in my eyes. Silence fell over me and I knew that the thing had caught up with me. I could no longer move frozen from shock, grief, and fear. Though I could hear nothing, I could feel my attackers presents behind me. After a moment in silence I felt an embrace engulf me from behind and a soft whisper in my ear. "Found you." he sang in my ear, I didn't struggle knowing it would be useless against his strength. I felt him shift behind me and his soft lips kissed my ear. I collapsed to the floor as an unbearable ring screeched in my ears. I could do nothing except helplessly cover my ears and writhe in pain.

I woke up drenched in sweat and breathing hard.The alarm was blaring next to me. I unplugged it forcing the noise to stop.I could feel adrenalin still pumping through my body as I realized it was alljust a nightmare.
