The wind was a gentle flutter and the dawn smelled of freshly damp grass and pine trees. The colors of the sunset were quickly fading, sinking deeper and deeper into the horizon, as if to escape the view of the inevitable creatures that lurked at night. The moon, however, shown brightly through the thin layer of clouds. Its plump and full form was breath taking, for I had never seen the moon shine so bright. I could make out every beautiful imperfection in its rotund body. I Looked up at Louis, who walked beside me, his moon-lit profile reminded me of a not-so-distant past where I had yet to know of the supernatural oddities of this world and the mystery was slowly driving me over the edge of insanity. Looking at him stirred the memories of that night, the night where I had discovered this new world, I smiled absently too myself. Sensing my eyes on him, Louis looked down at me, "What?" He smiled observing my features.

"Do you remember the night I found out about the supernatural world?" I questioned as the memories played over in my mind.

"Yes, it was the night Kai decided to come back." His jaw tightened as he spoke.

I giggled, "He scolded you for making me cry."

"Yeah," He rubbed the back of his neck, "Why were you crying again?"

I glared at him playfully, "Because you guys were hiding things from me! You told me that you had been in the day-class before you had been in the night-class, so I asked you why you transferred and you said some shit like, 'I hope you never have to find out.'" I recalled.

He scowled at my impersonation of him. "I don't sound like that." He pouted.

I laughed, "What did you even mean when you said that? Were you actually in the night-class before the day-class?"

"Yup."

"That's it? Just yup, tell me why." I complained.

"Didn't you hear me the first time, I told you that I never wanted you to find out." He grinned at my annoyed expression.

"Tell me." I begged.

"No." he said stubbornly.

I punched his arm then turned my back to him, "Jerk."

"Ow." He laughed out, I didn't respond, "Oh, come on don't be like that." I punched his arm again, "Okay, okay, I'll tell you just stop with the abuse." He joked.

I laughed, "Deal."

He sighed, "Many, many, years ago, this school was very different. I was still human and in the day-class. The guard did not exist back then and I was completely oblivious to the supernatural creatures that made up the night-class. The students that make up the guard today were simply night class students, most didn't even attend the school back then. In my mind the night-class students were always weird but obviously I never expected them to be mythical or fictional creatures. Back then we were completely restricted from seeing night-class students. But, I broke the rules. I was a curious bastard and wanted to learn more about the night-class, so I became acquainted with Cora. She completely amazed me, after meeting her I knew something was going on with the night-class. I wasn't stupid, and obviously saw her changing eye color and shady behavior." He paused, "She really needs to work on that." He thought aloud.

I giggled, "Yeah."

"Anyway, I began leaving at night and snooping around the school during night-class hours. That's when I saw him. I stumbled across the room we now use as our base, Kai was having some kind of meeting there and was discussing a plan with a group of night-class students. I saw Cora in there but something about the way he spoke of his plan made me want to stay out of sight."

"What was he planning?" I curiously asked.

"He wanted to take over the day-class."

"What?" I was shocked, "Why?"
