3rd Person's POV
"Naruto... Naruto, can you hear me?"
'Eita? Is that his voice I'm hearing?' The weakened and exhausted Naruto thought to himself. He opened his eyes slightly to be met with Kakashi's face. "Kakashi-sensei..." Naruto blinked his eyes a few times before quickly sitting up.
"Eita! Where is he?! Is he okay?!" He asked, frantically.
Kakashi looked at his student with a bit of guilt. "Eita... is dead, Naruto." He said. "What?" Naruto's eyes went wide with disbelief. "When we got to the battlefield, Eita's body was already cold. We took him to the hospital in attempt to revive him, but... we were too late. I'm sorry, Naruto. They buried him this morning." Kakashi explained.
"No, shut up! You're lying! Eita's not dead! He can't be dead!" Naruto yelled, refusing to believe it. Kakashi sadly gazed at his student while Naruto lowered his head, his eyes closed tightly as he gritted his teeth.
Naruto was trying his hardest not to sob in front of his sensei, but it was useless as he let a few tears fall down his cheek. Kakashi knew he wanted to be alone, so he left the room while closing the door behind him.
"Eita..." Naruto whispered as he clutched the hospital sheets in his hand. "If only I was there to save you... I'm so sorry..."
*****
Later that day, after Naruto was feeling better to walk, he went to the graveyard and found Eita's tombstone. He didn't want to believe it, but there it was, right before his very eyes. Eita was gone and he was never coming back.
Feeling defeated and depressed, Naruto fell to his knees as pain, sorrow, and loneliness began to fill the emptiness in his heart.
For the rest of the day, Naruto laid by Eita's grave, despite the fact he was hungry or that he had to go back to the hospital. He never left Eita's side, the same way how Eita never left his.
The next few days were hard for Naruto. Every day when he woke up, he'd expect to see Eita sleeping by his side, but remembering that he was gone, he was quickly filled with sorrow.
Naruto wouldn't do anything he usually did. He wouldn't eat ramen and he wasn't motivated to go train. He didn't even open the door whenever someone came by to check on him. Some nights, he wouldn't sleep. He couldn't without Eita.
Depression consumed his heart as he sat in his house by his lonesome.
At some point in the day, Naruto left the house to give Eita some company. With him, he brought the stuffed animal that he had given to Eita a few days after he moved in with him. Naruto gave a sad look and placed the stuffed lion against Eita's gravestone.
"I'm sorry, Eita," Naruto whispered. "I'm sorry I couldn't save you." Tears began to fill the brim of his eyes as he gazed down at the grave. Naruto sat there in the dirt as he depressingly gazed at the gravestone. Naruto truly missed Eita and wish he could go back in time to save him.
Later that day, Naruto fell asleep by Eita's grave as he laid there in the dirt. Kakashi, who was taking a walk, passed by the graveyard and found his student sleeping by Eita's grave.
Knowing he couldn't leave his student out to freeze to death, he picked up the sleeping boy and carried him back to his house. Once there, he tucked Naruto into bed and looked down at him, noticing some dry tear stains on the boy's cheeks, telling him that he was crying earlier.
Kakashi knew about the relationship Naruto had with Eita and he knew how much they were in love. He thought it was rather odd at first, but who was he to judge? He reads pervy books written by Jiraiya. After he had Naruto tucked in the bed, he left the boy to sleep.
Deep in the middle of the night, when the whole village was asleep, an unknown figure entered the village and dug up Eita's grave. Once his body was retrieved, the unknown figure reburied the spot the boy was buried and disappeared, taking Eita with them.
What's the point of digging up a dead body when they are of no use? Perhaps this unknown figure had something in mind for the dead Shingeru boy.
Hey, guys. I'm sorry if this chapter was a little short. I promise next chapter will be longer. Until then, stay awesome and express that insanity.
