Eita's POV

It hurts. Everything hurts. My head... my arms... my legs... my whole body hurts. It hurts so much, I can't even open my eyes. But I have to try. I need to know where I am. Something cold and damp was gently touching my head, so I got curious and a little alert.

I slowly flexed my fingers as I struggled to open my eyes. Once I had the strength to open my eyes, I glanced to my left and spotted Konan. She was on her knees by the bed I was laying on and her face was filled with worry.

"Konan-san...?" I whispered, confused to why she was here. "Eita," She smiled in relief. "You're finally awake."

"Konan-san... What are you doing here?" I whispered, softly. Konan gave me an apologetic look. "What's wrong? Why are you giving me that look?" I asked. "Wait, where am I? This doesn't look like the hospital."

She didn't answer as she continued to gaze at me with a sad gaze upon her face. "Konan-san, please tell me where I am. I am still in the Leaf Village... aren't ?" I asked. "Actually, Eita... You're in the Rain Village." Konan said.

"Rain Village? What am I doing here? How did I even get here?" I asked, sitting up from the bed. "Itachi and I... We went back to the village to check on you, but... when we got there, we saw them burying your body." Konan explained. "Bury? I don't understand." I said.

Konan sighed softly. "Eita, what's the last thing you remember?" She asked. "I... I remember protecting Naruto from Sasuke. I got hit with Sasuke's Chidori and I... I didn't have much strength, but I used the little strength I had to walk over to Naruto. I told him how much I loved him, then... then I saw them." I explained.

"Them?" Konan repeated. "Kushina... and Minato... I remember seeing them. And then, I... I... I don't know. I think I blacked out." I said. "You may think you blacked out. But in reality... you died, Eita." She replied.

"Died? But I didn't die. I'm clearly still alive. How could I have-"

"They buried your body, Eita. I saw them bury you." Konan interrupted me. "Then, I have to go back," I said, getting out of bed. "I have to go back and show them that I'm still alive. I need to get back to Naruto."

I headed towards the door and opened it before gasping as a man with orange hair and purple-ringed eyes stood over me. I was a little taken back by his height and his appearance because I didn't know he was standing behind the door.

"Sorry to eavesdrop on the conversation, but I can't allow you to leave, Eita Shingeru." The man said. "And who the hell are you? On second thought, I don't care. I'm getting out of here and I'm going back to the Leaf Village. So get out of my way." I ordered.

The man frowned at me before grabbing my throat and lifting me off the ground. I gasped and grabbed onto his wrist as I tried kicking so he could let me go. "Pein, don't!" Konan called. "Quiet, Konan." The man known as Pein ordered her.

"Let me go, dammit!" I snapped. "Let's get something straight here, Eita. You owe your life to Akatsuki now." He said. "What do you... mean? What are you talking about?" I grunted, frowning at him.

"Konan and Itachi may have dug up your grave, but it was I who brought you back to life." Pein mentioned. "What?" I asked. "If it weren't for me, you'd still be in that casket. As much as I didn't want to bring you back from the dead, Konan insisted. So, you're in my debt now." Pein said.

"No way... You're lying! Like hell I'm in your debt!" I snapped. "This is all fake! You're just playing a sick joke on me! There's no way I died, and there's no way you brought me back to life! This is all just a big fat lie!"

Pein's frowned seemed to darken as his grip on my throat tightened. I squeezed my eyes shut tightly with a grunt as I felt bruises forming on my neck. "It's true, Eita. All of it. Everything Pein is saying is true." Konan spoke up. I looked back at her with slightly wide eyes.

"Konan-san... What...?"

"I couldn't bear the pain of knowing the fact that you were dead. I was desperate to see you again. I honestly cared about you. I watched over you and saw how the villagers treated you, how they looked at you. You were only a child. No one should have to blame for what you did in the past. What did you wasn't your fault. I understand that pain, so I asked Pein to bring you back. I only wanted to make you happy."

My grip on Pein's wrists loosened before finally falling down to my sides in defeat. Pein took notice and released his grip on my neck, letting me fall to the floor. "You now belong in Akatsuki, Eita. I saved your life, and now you owe it to me. " Pein said.

I didn't answer as I had my head lowered, my hair covering my eyes. I heard Pein walk away and close the door behind him, then heard Konan approach me. "Eita, are you okay?" She asked as she placed her hand on my shoulder.

"Don't touch me!" I snapped. "Eita?" Konan asked with a bit of shock and confusion. I angrily faced her as I glared daggers at her. "How could you do you something like that?! Why would you take me away from there?! That was my home! I was happy there! I was loved there!" I shouted at her.

"I wish I would've stayed dead! I wish you had never dug me up!"

"Eita, you don't mean that." Konan said. "I hate you!!!" I screamed at her.

I ran out of the room and out of the Akatsuki hideout, running into the woods.

Pein's POV

"It doesn't matter how far you run, Eita. No matter where you go, no matter where you think you'll be safe, you'll never leave Akatsuki." I said as I watched him run off.

Eita's POV

I ran until I was out of breath. I hid behind a tree as I hugged my knees to my chest. "Naruto..." I whispered. My fingers clenched my sleeves as I held back my angry tears, hiding my face in my knees.

"Konan-san... I trusted you. I told you everything there is to know about me. My dreams, my secrets, everything. Yet, in the end, you went behind my back and betrayed me. I don't care if it was because you wanted to see me again. Because of your actions, I'll never see Naruto again. I can never go back to him."

I lifted my head and frowned at the view in front of me, feeling myself being filled with rage. "Konan-san... I'll never forgive you for this. Never. Not ever."
