Ichigo's Successor-A Bleach Fanfic

Chapter2: Enter Renji

Ichigo led Son into the main hall of the 12 squad captains, so that they could talk to Head Captain Yamaoto.

"Sir, I have a new recuit for you. He has some high spitual pressure. I have a feeling he would be a great soul reaper, even if he is a bit of a runt." The head Captain looked son over and sighed.

"Ichigo, I do agree he has great promise, but I don't think he could fit into any of our squads, and last for a long time. He would be killed by the third mission." Son looked down in shame of himself, and of what the Head Captain had said. But, he did admit to himself that is was the harsh truth.

"Well, well, well, Ichigo! It looks like you brought another runt to join us, who can't keep up with the litter. Let alone be worthy of being a Soul Reaper! Hah, him? I can't see that ever happening." A boy with tattoos on his face, and red hair that was spiked pony tail on the back of his head. He was wearing a soul reaper's uniform, and had a Lieutenant's badge on his right arm.

"Renji..." Ichigo said, glaring at the soul reaper.

"Ichigo if you think he can match up to our ranks then have him take me on. What do you say Captain? Let this kid join if he can survive a battle with me."  The Head Captain sighed and shook his head,

"There is no way for him to fight without his own Zanpakto." "Then let him use a practice one! If he wants to become a soul reaper, then he'll figure out how to summon his zanpakto quickly. That his if he even has one, hah!" Renji said with an arrgant tone. "Renji, this is stupid! Why would you pick on a kid like that?!" Ichigo said in a furious tone of voice that made Renji just smirk. "Well Ichigo let him fight me, then I'll kill you after I kill this brat, which won't be long at all." "If a fight's what you want Renji, then I'll take you on!" Ichigo said pulling his Zanpakto out of it's wrapping. "No Ichigo." Son paused for a moment to collect his next words, "Let me do this, please." Son said in a sudden surpise. Ichigo looked at him, just sighed nodding, and threw him his Zanpakto. "Your going to need one, the practice ones are no match against Renji's, it's only fair for you to use mine." 

The two standed off against one another, their eyes glaring. Renji started off. "Roar Zabimaru!" Renji said sliding his hand along the length of his blade and it transformed into a sword that could seperate and grow longer. "This is my Sheikai form of the Zanpakto. Luckliy for you Ichigo's Zanpakto is always in it's Sheikai form!" Renji stated in a mocking tone. He then lashed at Son with his Zanpakto, but Son managed to block it with the Zanpakto he was using. Son then ran at Renji and slashed the blade at him but Renji dodged it with ease. Renji then use the sharp ends of his blade to stap into Son's shoulder making him yell in pain. Renji then proceeded to pull Zabimaru back into its closed form making it slash through Son's shoulder more making him cry out in pain. "It's time to end this," Renji said making Ichigo's eyes grow, "BANKAI! Hihio Zabimaru!" Renji then had pink bearings around his shoulders with skulls on both ends. Zabimaru also grew into a giant snake that looked like it was made out of split wood. It had a total of six eyes and a mouth that could swallow you up whole, and have room for more. Son watched in fear as Zabimaru struck at him making him block the sword. Son grimced and fought back but was swallowed up with Ichigo's Zanpakto. "Ha! Hahaha!" Renji started laughing then said, "You call that a challenge? He was so weak! He couldn't be a Soul Rea- HUH?!" Renji then saw and heard Zabimaru scream loudly, as it shaddered into peices. Son emerged in flames wearing a soul reaper's clothing, his Zanpakto was pure black, and was just a little bit smaller than Ichigo's. Renji eyes grew in fear of the inmensse spiritual pressure, quickly rebuilt Zabimaru, and struck at Son, but all he did was block the sword and break it once again. Son then flash stepped and slashed Renji's chest wide open making him yell in pain. "Am I pathic now Renji?" Son ask him. Renji fell back on his backside and struggled to breath, "You win, runt..." Renji coughed up a large amount of blood, then continued talking, "You win...". Son smiled as the flames disappered from his body, and he looked at Ichigo, handing him back his Zanpakto. "Way to go Son! You won! So Head Captain what do ya say? Can he become a soul reaper or what?" Ichigo asked with a smirk. The Head captain sat in thought for a moment then said, "I need a Captain meeting to decide where this boy should go, but for now, he is indeed a Soul Reaper."
