Chapter 1~ Letters

The Dragons Savior, Book Two

Chapter One~

Saoirse~

The Summer after. (six months or so after the first book)

'Stop Densase!' I all but screamed.

We were flying high over the Enchanted Wood. Looking down all you could see was a forest, no Elves or Witches about their business. In the distance you could see Acuses, one of the three Walled cities of Athiosus, my homeland. We were too far west to see my home city, Belidona Athiosus, but you could see the curve of the coast snaking its way to the Belidona river.

I held tighter to my drangons' hide as he flew in a loop through the sky. He was diving straight towards the ground and I found myself screaming in delight.

It was one of the few times we had time to enjoy ourselves, tonight was the end of the Light Reign. We were going to join the Witch Queens of other clans around the land for a feast tonight, the Seelie Fairies were also to join us.

Our training had been vigerous since we arrived, I haven't seen much of Elizabeth these past months. Which is respectable considering that she was a human born witch and this was the first time she has been welcomed by her kin. It was nice to see her that happy.

David was worried too that his dragon, Parthim, wasn't developing correctly. Which is madness because he is much larger then Densase was at his age. Also, Densase is a Sun Dragon and Parthim is a Water Dragon, and they aren't the same age. Densase is a whole month older then Parthim

Densase pulled out of the dive and whacked his gold tail against the trees of the forest bellow.

'Densase!' I snapped, we were in so much trouble now.

Sorry his scaly voice whispered in my mind.

I smiled, it was hard to stay mad at him. He was just too cute and young.

Compared to how large Simmender was, Densase was still quite small but the Ancient Elves that remember the Age of the Dragons say he is considerably large for his young age.

When he hatched the night William, Shadow and Harry left he was small enough to sit in the palm of my hand, though his egg was much bigger, but now he was two time my height and a little over my height in width. He was gold and he sparkled in the sunlight but when the moon arose he turned a colour of bronze. He has a small head, twice the size of a horses' but Parthims is bigger, He has a long neck with sharp scales sticking out, and a long tail. His teeth were poisonous so only I could feed him and the most unnerving thing about him was that he had green eyes identical to mine. His wingspan is twice his own height and width, much like bird wings, though they were scaled, he also had two horns coming from his head.

We flew a while longer but the Sun was changing to Moon so we landed, and when we did, David came to greet us with a distressing note.

'Word has come from Belidona! William is missing.'

Although Densase had never met Will, he knew that Will meant alot to me.

'What do mean, he is missing?' I asked as I slid off Densaes .

David handed me the letter.

 

Dear David and Saoirse,

You must come urgently to Belidona Athiosus. 

William has been kidknapped by an unknown source and the King and Queen are blaming Terre Onas in the act. Terre Onas have been insulted by this accusation and are threatening war.

William has been missing since the 5th Moon of the Summer. I sent the message on the 8th Moon of Summer.

Your Father has been seen comunicating with peasants also. He is suspicous of your sudden disapearence after the proposal of Alex Wate. We have not told a soul of your situation, we told your mother that you moved to Acuses in the fear of an arranged marraige. She beleives us.

Alex Wate has failed to provide a substatute wife and believes he can win you back. Beware.

Prince Zachary is beside himself with happinnes. If William does not return before the Summer Solticed, he will be crowned King.

You both must come to Belidona to set things right.

Beware.

Do NOT bring your Dragons, if they have hatched.

Densase growled behind me and pressed his snout to my lower back.

'When did you get this?' I strained to keep my voice level.

'Moments before you landed.'

I took a deep breath.

'We must alert the Witch Clans.'
