It was their first cold morning after a few years. Snow started to fill up the sidewalks, and covers all the grass underneath it. Shivering as she forgot to turn on the heater, Sana woke up ans wrapped herself with the blanket as she went to her laptop in her desk.
Current temperature: 18° C
She sighed and ran downstairs to get a hot cup of coffee to keep herself warm. Sana started to have a small flu and cough, so did her parents.
"We forgot to buy some meds on the way" her father said while rubbing his forhead. Their body were still adapting to the cold environment after staying in a hot country. Sana gulped down the hot choco and went upstairs to her room.
She remembered that she still had a speciel exam to get in her college so she took a bath, wore her black leggings, pink sweater, and a thick black coat. As she got to the garage, she wondered where her car was but then she remembered that it wasn't there yet so she had to spend a few cash for a cab to get there.
When she had paid for it, she got out and saw students entering their respective buildings. She walked carefully at the sidewalk, to not slip and fall because of the snow. Trees were bare naked, and men cleaned up the fallen leaves, as well as the snow that started piling up the streets.
Sana got in the building she was looking for and headed to the office. "Good morning, I sent an application form online. When will I be having my entrance exam?" She asked the lady on the desk. The woman asked for her name and looked for her documents in the computer.
"You'll be having it by the end of the week. Just come here and someone else might guide you to the exam room. Here is your exam slip" the lady said as she ripped off the paper from the machine and handed it to Sana.
Sana bid goodbye and walked out of the building. She saw some students holding coffees from Starbucks so she decided to look around the campus to find what she was craving for. Indeed, she did find the café, and made an order.
"You seem new here" the barista said as he looked at Sana with a bright smile on his face, that seemed like it will never come off at all. Sana smiled back and replied, "Yeah, I'm a new student, well... Not yet. How did you know though?""Usually students come here in pairs, in uniforms, and surely not wearing a fancy coat like that"
"Fancy coat?"
"Uhuh..." He said, looking at the coffee that was being poured in the cup by the machine, "they'd usualy wear thick sweaters, hoodies, or really huge winter jackets since they don't have the time to go back home to get clothes"
"That's weird" she said and took the cup from him. Though the place was filled with tired and exhausted students in line to order, they didn't really occupy much tables since they'd walk out as soon as they get their order. Sana sat down by the brick wall with white drawings on it, and rested.
After less than an hour of resting inside the warm café, Sana decided to go back home and fix her things. She walked at the same pathway she did earlier, and studens werw filling up the hallway, guessing that they were on a break or heading to their next class.
"Excuse me" a young girl with bangs said. She looked like she was in high school but she was wearing the college's uniform. "Sorry" Sana said and the girl sprinted to the entrance of the building. Her eyes followed the peculiar looking girl but she shook it off and went back home.
"Where's dad?" She asked her mom who was on the couch as soon as she got home. "At the city hall. Our business set up won't start too long"
"Oh ok" she replied and went upstairs to her new room. It was a new house, who would've guessed. It still had those dust particles after it was constructed, the smell of newly covered beige walls, and the box's aroma coming from the truck. Another home, but it wasn't a new start for everything. She sat down on the matress that was still covered in it's plastic cover, making this crumpled sound everytime she makes a small movement.
