Elliot's POV
"She is a messy drunk. She also is a light weight." I sighed, as Leo and I sat at the deli down the road from our warehouse that we made into our security business.
"Well, I don't know what to say, Stabler. You only have eyes for a woman with dark brown hair and, I'm gonna quote you here, "The darkest, most thoughtful, beautiful eyes I've ever seen."." Leo spoke, and I groaned. I ran my hand over my neck and reached for my coffee.
"Leo, you know how I feel about Olivia. How I've always felt about her. You were my only friend when I left SVU, and even though I was with Kelly, and we were expecting Gus, Liv was still on my mind."
"Ask her on a date then."
"How do I just go and ask my ex wife to give me another chance? To forgive me for kissing her, but I was only doing it because I couldn't think of her going on a date with another man?" I mused, as I wiped a napkin over my mouth.
"Just tell her." He breathed, and I sighed.
"Leo-" I started, but he shook his head.
"Just do it, Stabler!"
---
After work, I drove over to Liv's. The kids were staying with Amanda and Sonny, so Liv was supposed to be home alone, and I'd have a chance to see her.
I walked up the steps of her brownstone and knocked on the door. It was still awkward. This used to be my house.
A few seconds later, Liv was opening the door, and she looked stunning.
Her hair was in loose waves, and her makeup was light. She was wearing a pair of dark skinny jeans, and her favorite light blue blouse.
"El? What are you doing here?" She asked, and I swallowed hard. I felt like I couldn't breath. She was literally taking my breath away.
"Uh, I-i was wondering if w-we could talk?" I stuttered, and she looked down at her watch, before nodding.
"Sure. Can it be said in less than 15 minutes?" She asked, and I swallowed hard.
"Sure."
She let me in, and I shoved my hands into my pant pockets, as Liv grabbed her boots, and slipped them on.
"So, what's up?" She asked, and I bit my lip.
"I was wondering if you would be up for dinner one night?" I asked, and her eyes went wide.
"El-" She started, but I shook my head.
"Liv, please. I just want to regain your trust."
"I'm kinda seeing someone, Elliot." She replied, and my heart broke.
She was really done with me.
"But I love you." I whispered, and she frowned deeply.
"Elliot, I love you too. But right now, it's not a love that I can act on. It's one that a man and woman share when they have kids together."
"Thanks." I spoke, my voice cold.
"Elliot, please." She replied, and I shook my head.
"You are clearly done with me. Sorry for coming over. Have fun with whoever you are seeing. Tell the kids I'll get them from school on Friday, so we don't have to see each other."

Olivia's POV
I watched as Elliot walked out of my house, and he had tears on his cheeks. I just hurt him. Horribly.
I walked over to the window and watched as he kicked his car, before getting in. He drove away quickly, and I knew it was because he was ashamed and upset. He just cried in front of me. It's not the first time, but I'm his ex wife now.
I sighed, and I didn't even feel excited, when Matthias pulled up.
I opened the door, and he got out of his truck, and grabbed a bunch of flowers. He smiled at me as he walked towards my front door.
This was the first time he was going to come to my place. I had the kids help me clean up when they got home, before taking them to Amanda's.
"Hey, Liv." Matthias spoke, as he got to my door. He leaned in and our lips touched for a few seconds. He pulled away and smiled.
"You look great." He spoke, and I looked him over.
"You look great in that green." I spoke. He handed me the flowers, and we walked together into my kitchen.
"So, we talked about pizza on Saturday, so I thought maybe we could make our own?" I spoke, and he smiled.
"Aren't you crafty?" He asked, and I chuckled.
"No, not really. I have my mother in law and ex do all the crafty stuff with my kids. I just really wanted to eat pizza. This was my husband's recipe." I spoke, and he eyed me.
"The one who is a retired police officer?" Matthias asked, and I looked down at my hands and shook my head.
"No. I was married before Elliot."
"Oh." He spoke, and I bit my lip.
"He got into a car accident when our daughter, Hanna, was only a few months old. He was killed on impact." I whispered, and he frowned. He wasn't judging me anymore.
"Got any pictures of your kids?" He asked, and I nodded.
"Once we get the pizza together, I'll show you."
---
I walked around my living room showing him the pictures of my kids, who he said were, and I quote, "Freaking adorable". He said that Cayden looked more like me than he did Elliot, who he saw in several of the pictures.
We walked downstairs and into my office, where I kept my favorite family pictures. I spent a lot of time in here, and this was an important place for me. And an important place for me to clear my mind.
"So, this is where all the magic happens?" He laughed, and I smiled.
"No, but close." I replied, and he chuckled, as he walked over to my desk and picked up a frame.
"You keep your wedding picture on your desk?" He asked, and my eyes went wide. I quickly grabbed it from him and frowned as I looked at Elliot and myself.
"Matthias, are you okay with this?" I asked slowly.
"It's not my favorite thing, because I really like you, and I'm nervous."
"About Elliot and me?" I asked, and he nodded.
"Yeah, what if you decide to get back together with him?"
"Uh, Matthias, we are divorced. I have no plans on getting back together with him."
But even as I said those words, I didn't even believe myself. I wanted Elliot, but I wouldn't let myself have him.
