Chun Hwa's pov
The library was quiet.
There was not a single sound, except for the books who were pouring their heart's content out. As the first few strays of sunlight peeked through the thick clouds, the warm coloured room started to bathe in the pale golden light. Making the dust particles that were floating around, visible to the human eye. Moments like these unveiled the real beauty of the world.
It was then, that the universe shows its magic to the few who were lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time.
And at that moment, Chun Hwa was one lucky girl. She walked aimlessly around, with her hands tenderly touching every book's spine. She might've been the only person, this early in the library of the university, but that did not mean she was the only soul present. For the room was filled with the invisible spirits of every story.
In a way, these hard covers, with white or yellowish pages inside were no less of living beings. There were so many parallels between us and them. You had old books, who were kind of crumpled, or falling apart as well as books who were brand new with stark white pages. There were bigger ones, and smaller ones. Thicker ones and thinner ones. Some covers were filled with all the colours of the rainbow, while others consisted of just a few.
But most importantly, no matter the visual differences, all of them had a story. Short or long, inspiring or depressing. There were so many stories present, written by so many people who have poured their everything into their writing. All of this, made it impossible for them to be limited to only being called 'a book'. They were so much more than that. They were love, pain, wisdom, lust and anger. They were passion and compassion, all expressed with the same words, but contrasting sentences and meanings.
Chun Hwa felt at peace and she appreciated it. This was one of her favorite places, as she finally had time to think about her own feelings, her own thoughts on matters. She had decided to wake up early this time, to avoid seeing and feeling too many people, but alas, you never are physically alone in a city like this.
Even though it was still dark outside and her breath made its own snow clouds, she saw all these parents leave their houses to go to work. A great deal of them had their cars with built in air conditioning to keep them warm. But there were others who had to go by foot, or public transportation. The only thing that kept those brave people from freezing, was the fact that they knew they were going to make money for their children, so their little ones wouldn't have to live an uncomfortable life.
As Chun Hwa was passing them, she realised that despite the bitter circumstances, they had one of the kindest souls. So she talked to them. She had realised a long long time ago, that with just one nice conversation or compliment, she could make someone's entire day. " It's the least I could do" the girl thought. And the same happiness she brought them, would make its way back to her own heart. "Love", she thought, "was like a boomerang. If you give it to someone, it will eventually find its way back to you."
And on that happy note, she was reminded again, that what she had received, was in fact a gift. Not by any means, a curse.
Jimin's pov
" You never walk alone", she had said.
Ever since that day, a week ago, Jimin had been twisting and turning the sentence in his mind, as if he'd somehow be able to find a clue as to why she had said particularly that sentence. He remembered the day he heard it for the first time, as clear as crystal. It was the day something had changed in him. Chun Hwa saying that sentence had unsettled him. What if she knows about me? What if Taehyung or Jungkook had told her something? Or maybe she was mocking me?
