Five Words

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

Just five words, posed as a question.

Five words that changed the small smile on my face to a full grin.

Five words that made me stutter, that made my heart skip one beat too many.

Just five words.

Five words I'd waited for an eternity for you to say. Those five words changed my prospective of myself. I no longer see myself as useless, as worthless. I can ignore the words of my father telling me that no one will like me.

Those words, they meant more to me than you'll know. They prove to me that I'm worth more than I believe. They tell me it's okay to smile and be myself. They tell me you think I'm perfect, despite my deepest flaws.

"Yeah. Of course, I'd love to be your girlfriend."

If you couldn't tell, he asked me to be his girlfriend.

Cue girlish scream.

But seriously, I was so happy. I still am. I can't stop smiling and my stomach keeps flip flopping around and I don't even know...

Anyways, that's enough of that.
