Time is a funny thing you know. It likes to play all these tricks on you when times get rough. Danger is a funny thing too. It brings all this fear and anxiety with it to bring you down. Now when the two are mixed together, well that's something I like to call hell. When danger is at it's highest peak, time than begins to slow. It slows so that you are almost forced to soak in every single bit of danger you are in; every detail of it, every second, every millisecond, and as we all follow Scott in a rush outside, that is exactly what is happening to me.
Everything is moving so slowly as Stiles tugs me along behind him by my hand. His grip is so tight on me that I can feel his fear roll off of him and onto. Everyone is speaking, words are being thrown everywhere, but the only thing I can fully hear is my own breathing and heartbeat as we all burst through the doors into the parking lot.
Everyone stops immediately, creating what seems to be a barricade around my small frame, Stiles's body covering most of me with his hand still wrapped around me, enabling me from seeing whom they all were staring at.
"Well hello Scott. Nice to see you and your little pack again.", a voice rings out. It's sounds posh and polite, but has a dark edge to it that makes me shake in my shoes.
"Deucalion.", Scott states back.
"Now I'm not a main of all the formalities and beating around the point, so let's hey straight to the point. Where is she?"
She...she as in me.
"If what you're asking is for me to hand her over to you just like that, the answer is no."
I hear a chuckle come from the man Deucalion. "Is that what you think Scott? Well to put your mind at ease, I'm not here to take anyone. I am only here to simple observe the girl who seems to be causing such havoc in the werewolf world."
"You can't look at her.", I hear my sister say. I turn slightly to see her eyes blazing, that fierceness that I've always admired about her glowing off her.
"Lydia sweetheart, how are you doing this fine morning?", Deucalion asks my sister.
"It was lovely, until I had to be bothered by your annoying little cane banging in my ears from the moment I stepped into the school."
Another chuckle from Deucalion. "Ah the Banshee. My apologizes for disturbing you with my, as you said, little cane. Now please, may I see your sister?"
What? How does he know that?
"And I have already answered your question, no.", my sister throws back at him.
There is a long pause and for a moment I thought the man had simply left, but I was wrong.
"You know, I'm a very polite person with a leveled amount of patients, especially for you people, but as all others, I have a limit and I'm afraid you all are reaching it. Now I didn't come here to fight or cause a scene, I come to only look. Now if you children will not cooperate, I'm afraid I will have to turn this little meeting into something ugly, and that is the last thing any of you want."
Another pause.
"Stiles.", Deucalion's voice booms. "Would you mind moving a bit and stop hiding her behind your back?"
Stiles and I simultaneously stiffen and Stiles' hand tightens around mine.
Again, the question rings through my mind, how?
Stiles turns and looks at me, his eyes weary with fear. He gives me a slight nod and shifts to the side, exposing me to the man whom seems to be the major advisory.
I finally get to see him, but what I see shocks me. He's a lean man with dark blonde combed over hair. He looks kind of old, maybe late 40's, early 50's. But none of that is what shocks me. What shocks me are the dark glasses around his face and the long white cane in his hands.
