It was finally time to take Laurie home. Its been four days with her, the best four days of my life. My mom is beside me, looking over my shoulder at the infant in my arms. We were waiting for my dad to come up with Lauren's car seat. He and mom wanted to drive Lauren and I home. Mom said it was because its always a good idea for the mom, or in this case,  dad to sit in the back with the baby so she knows that everything is fine.

Once I got her into her car seat and into the car, I watched her the whole way home. Her bright blue eyes staredbinto my brown eyes. I can already tell she looks like me. Same eye shape, same nose, even same chin. I pinch her cheek slightly, making her smile. Or maybe it was gas.

When we got home it was about 7 at night. I could tell Laurie was getting tired, but she never sleeps with a dirty diaper. I took her to our room, changed her diaper, pot her into pajamas, and cuddled her on my bed.

After an hour, I tried everything to get her to sleep. I fed her, burped her, even rubbed her back. Maybe she needs a lullaby. I looked at Laurie and started to softly sing.

Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high,
There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true.

Someday I'll wish upon a star,
And wake up where the clouds are far,
Behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops,
Away above the chimney tops,
That's where you'll find me.

Somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly,
Birds fly over the rainbow. Why then, oh, why can't I?

If happy little bluebirds fly,
Beyond the rainbow, why, oh, why can't I?

Her eyes stared to close, so I just started to humm. It finally put her to sleep.

"I love you, babygirl.. So much." I kissed the top of her head before putting her into her crib.
